So what great evil did the NRA commit exactly? I don't think I've ever seen such a mass mindless frothing at the mouth which no real explanation other than "they supported their political position!" before.

I feel like deep down, it's simply because the NRA, the NRA-ILA and its members generally tend to support GOP candidates. I think that's what it boils down to with liberal activists and the media, but they'll never just directly say that.

Read some years ago that leftist gun control was not about guns or safety, but a way to punish all those wrong-headed conservatives.
