The guy sounds like a kook. He told police he used to work for LAPD. The couple was renting a home in Frisco, TX. A neighbor said the male was always dressed in black fatigues, sometimes carrying a pistol. He thought he was a cop.

I bet they were running guns for some kind of illegal activity like the drug business. Who knows.

Well it wouldn't have been very responsible for them to leave the weapons in their truck, now would it?

The whole story is strange. It reads like they wanted the rifles to be found.

...that ain’t huge. That’s a fun day at the range around here. Oh, and that was a 37mm flare gun and fake suppressors, but in Massachusettes, they are “infernal devices”. They are in now way Title 2 NFA applicable.

[from the article]: .....and found five rifles, a shotgun, grenades, a handgun, a revolver and hundreds of rounds of ammunition They also discovered walkie-talkies, six laptops, four phones and thumb drives

So I get that the grenades are illegal. How is any of this other stuff illegal? Am I missing something?

"So I get that the grenades are illegal."

I read somewhere else they were only smoke grenades.

What you're missing is that this occurred in the People's Republic of Massachusetts, where bump stocks are illegal, higher than 10 round capacity magazines are illegal, so-called assault style rifles are illegal, and you need a firearm owner's identification card on order to possess firearms or ammunition.

We can purchase hi cap mags if they were manufactured before 1994. We can also purchase so-called assault rifles. They have to have a fixed stock though.

My state has some idiotic gun laws. But nothing like California.
