Heineken, in response to allegations of racism, has pulled its lighter is better ad promoting the beer giants Heineken Light from TV and internet spots. The ad shows a bartender sliding a beer down the bar past three people who are all black. The beer then stops in front of a lighter-skinned woman after displaying the words Sometimes, lighter is better on the screen. The ad has been removed from Heinekens HEINY, -0.92% official channels but has been re-posted by others. Naturally, the internet went into a fury upon viewing the ad both in support and against Heineken.

Was talking with a wise black woman the other day who agreed black people dont always understand what a lot of white (or Asian) people have gone through. Horrible injustices, violence from the state, etc. Between the two of us, once her family was treated as possessions. Fairly valuable possessions. But only 2 generations ago my family were treated as cockroaches and exterminated by their government (Germany). Its not about the skin.
