When the big media push behind the pro-gun-control Parkland students was still getting revved up last month, I called it a “Children’s Crusade.” That seemed appropriate because of the reverence the media was showing these often ignorant and occasionally offensive teenagers. Even back then, that impulse was clearly focused most intensely on Emma Gonzalez, the student whose “We call BS” speech CNN transcribed and spread with an evangelists zeal on its homepage.
But today, the New Yorker has reached peak-Parkland-adulation with a piece titled “Joan of Arc and the Passion of Emma González.” The author isn’t directly comparing Gonazalez to Joan, at least not at first, but to a silent film about Joan from 1928. Still, the overriding desire to elevate Gonzalez to secular sainthood is palpable:

She is FUGLY inside and out along with the Hogg.
She’s apparently homosexual or differently gendered. She’s in the gay straight alliance club in school. She rejects traditional female appearance to singularize herself.
Enema Gonzalez suits her/it better.

You could kinda tell that from the hands. That said, I’m not sure her intent is different.

It’s amazing how the media elevated the most repulsive people they could find - Hogg and Gonzales - and made them the faces of the anti-gun movement. That the media would find these people attractive tells you all you need to know about where the media are coming from.
Emma wears a Cuban flag on her jacket. One interview with her had a poster of Che Guevara behind her. So, she is a tool of the Democrat Party, which is a tool of communism
She’s not pretty. She’s not smart. She’s probably n denial about her heterosexuality. She hates the Constitution. What good is she?
At her set-up, sham trial for heresy conducted by her enemies, 19-year-Joan was asked by her smirking judges about the voices of the Saints that came to her,
“What dialect do they speak in?”
Joan’s answer: “A better one than yours.”
Next, scholars will discover new evidence about Joan of Arc to show she was like Emma.

Why do you think she’s doing this? Do you think anyone ever put a camera in front of her before in her life, or listened to a thing out of her stupid face? For 15 minutes, she can pretend she “matters”.
What a great way to win Americans to your cause: Have some foreigner wearing commie regalia tell us to give up guns. Can Cubans reach Parkland when they swim over? Maybe they can tell us what happens to unarmed populations under communism.
David Hogg is being passed over for a more “positive” leading figure.
