They’re old enough to vote, but not to buy an “assault rifle” legally.

Sorry, but this is a district where Lamb should have never been closer than 8 points... The messaging out of the GOPe and the National Pacs was messaging that will NEVER drive voter turnout.

They NEVER, EVER messaged the campaign right, and as a result left 50k votes on the table from the last off year election, and well over 150k on the floor from the last presidential election.

D should have NEVER been closer than 8 points had a decent message been sent out, but it wasn’t. The campaign message was simply red meat for the hard right base, that was NEVER ever going to attract or motivate turnout of the non traditional MAGA voter.

This campaign was literally the same old message for the last 15+ years out of the republican party... This could have been any generic R candidate for the last 15 years that their ads messaging were for. Those ads did not drive turnout anytime in the last 15+ years, yet they expected it to win them this race... it was incompetence.

I hate to break this to you, but Trump didn’t win because he simply pandered to conservatives! There aren’t enough of them to win a national election... and sure as hell aren’t enough of them to carry many easily winnable districts. Trump went right up the upper midwest and won, because he appealed outside the standard R voter. He got I and D voters to vote for him... and the GOP messaging in PA-18 NEVER ever once even tried to address them or give them a reason to care or be motivated.

If they run the fall campaign like they ran PA-18, R’s will handily lose 23+ seats or whatever the magic number is... it won’t be a 1994, or 2010 smackdown like the R’s delivered to the D’s, but the D’s will handily win the house back.

The fact is simple, the GOP still doesn’t “get” 2016, and if they think they can keep campaigning like they did before it and win they are foolish... Yes they will handily win many senate seats in 18, but if their messaging in the fall is what they were all pumping into PA-18 this fall, they lose the house pure and simple.

Dems are motivated and are going to crawl over glass to vote, and NOTHING in the PA-18 Messaging remotely was going to motivate the voters they need to show up and vote to do so.. and it sure enough they didn’t. This WILL be the story in many easily winnable districts this fall if they plan on using the same messaging in the fall as they did in PA-18.

Just as I had no hesitation calling the election in 2016 for Trump early because it was obvious out of the gate he was going to win and do it right up through the upper mid west, it is just as flagrantly obvious, that the messaging they used in PA-18 from the entire GOP ecosphere is not going to motivate turnout in many places... and Dems will gain enough seats to take the house.

If the plan for the fall messaging wise, is the same they used in PA-18, many districts that should easily be held, will be lost... IF they don’t start messaging the MAGA voter and just want to run an PELOSI and DEMS are bad campaigns, they will lose 23+ seats handily.

No doubt about it.

If all the gun owners turn out, and they certainly should after this weekend, the Democrats could be crushed. Ryan and McConnell would be so sorry, since they sneaked the first gun control measures into the omnibus budget bill to cuddle up to Pelosi and Schumer.

You appear to have missed my point. RINO = Uniparty. There was no giant wave of Democrat voters that pushed Saccone out; it was the same old constituents. Never mind the razor-thin margin by which Lamb got in.

All that is necessary for Trump to lose is for people such as I to do nothing.

Well then do something—because the de facto state of civil war which currently exists in this country will only get worse if the Democrats take the House...

Democrats’ so called “assured” Blue wave, 2018 Election Dreams Could End Up as a Blue Wave Nightmare! If they were on track to beat us, the DNC would not be borrowing money!

Dem’s 2018/20 Blue Wave!

Thanks to Navy Patriot and ObozoMustGo2012 for the above!

I didn’t miss your point, I think you missed mine.

IT would not have mattered how conservative or moderate the R running in PA-18 was... the messaging of the race ensured that the GOPe has no idea what its doing when it comes to the electorate, particularly outside the deepest of red states and districts.

This is why they will lose the house in the fall. They refuse to recognize the reality that TRUMP showed them.... they are doing the same stupid things they were doing prior to Trump. GOP got a boost from ANTI OBAMA and LIBERAL POLICIES.... that motivation is gone.. They aren’t going to get folks to show up just because they hate Obama or Pelosi.. those folks are already baked in.. they are going to show up anyway, and those people didn’t give them the upper midwest in 2008 or 2012... And if they think they can run that sort of Campaign and not lose districts, particularly in the upper midwest then they are beyond stupid.

YOu can’t just offer raw meat to the same old republican base and think that is going to win... You won’t motivate the non traditional voters to show up, and turnout is the key to midterms. R’s are facing a self created disaster if they plan on using PA-18’s messaging for the fall. They will handily lose 23+ or whatever number it is, and the house. In state wide elections for Senate, they will handily pick up seats.

If the GOPe ecosphere doesn’t wake up, they are going to lose the house, period. Its not even up for debate. Dems are going to turn out, and the messaging they used in PA-18 is not going to motivate the turnout they need to not lose many districts that should be easily winnable for them.

On the contrary, the GOP-e knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s deliberately helping the Democrats, thus furthering the Uniparty cause.

I hope I don’t quote books like “The Naked Communist” or “The Conscience of a Conservative” in vain, because I do so to make the point that this leftist takeover of both the major political parties happened a long time ago, and the fruits of that takeover were obvious then and ought to just be so painfully obvious now as to be expected.

You keep on saying the “messaging” was bad in PA-18, but you are not explaining what you think that messaging was.

From what I’m reading of your opinion, you think the message was too “conservative”.

Trump message was NOT moderate. He might have made Independents and some Dem’s to crossover, but it wasn’t because his message was moderate.

That is just ridiculous if you think that way.

The good news for the Dems is that they have the MSM and the RNC and the GOP on their side. The DOJ is no longer as reliable of an ally, but that has been replaced by the Swampdog Republicans like Ryan and McConnell. It continues to be Trump and 48% of We the People being the only ones standing in their way.

The Senate would be a massive victory for them if it happened, since they need to win 23 of 33 just to stay even at 50-48-2... and TEN current Dem seats that are up for grabs are in states that Trump won. If they pull that off, AND add seats on top of that, then we might as well secede before Christmas.

We cannot lose our conservative majority in the House because we have never yet had one! By now we know that a Republican majority in the House or Senate means only slowing down the Dimmwitcrat agenda, a little...maybe....sorta...

Any ideas on getting more real conservatives in the House?

I still say we easily hold the House, just like we did in 2016.

would need to win the national popular vote for congressional districts by a nearly 11 percentage point margin over Republicans to gain more than the roughly two dozen seats they need to flip control
They'll sccomplish this by not alienating the middle of America with astroturf "protests", groundless racist accusations of racism (termed 'white privilege'), rallies for abortion, sanctuary cities, and the homosexual agenda. IOW, the gist of the article is correct. Thanks Olog-hai.
