I’m curious, at what point did the idea that the Second Amendment had an “exception” forbidding THE PEOPLE from possessing Military Style Firearms take hold?
When the Constitution was written, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE were armed with the same type of weapons that the British had used against them. Most of the Cannons used against the British came from Private Hands.
It’s interesting how time changes reality, for the worse.
The Second Amendment has no restrictions, it was and it remains crystal clear in its purpose.
