So how long do you think it was before the inevitable name of Trump appeared? Well, I’m going to compare Jeff Greenfield to a 60 year old Jimmy Olsen, who’s still a copy boy.
Just watched “The Death of Stalin” today. There have been a number of movies in this vein lately, notably “Anthropoid” and “The Man with the Iron Heart,” both about the assassination of Nazi SS General Reinhard Heydrich. Hollywood wants to be able to point to them and say that the Trump is just like the Nazis and Stalin and Hitler and Mussolini. Why doesn’t Godwin’s Law apply to them?

Yes, it WAS indeed suggestive and a way to influence/encourage FDR to follow suit, based on what his own proclivities and those around him, had already talked about/hinted at.
I saw it on TCM and would encourage everyone to see it, the next time it's on.
But to claim that it has ANYTHING at all to do with Trump is disingenuous and stupid in the extreme!
If they did, they would know that Obama and his horde were the true "FASCISTS"!

Well, FDR did setup concentration camps and did serve 4 terms. He would have served a fifth term if he didn’t expire in office. He was well on the way to setting up a dictatorship.

Because Godwin's so-called "law" is bull$#!+ designed to limit discussion. If somebody really is a Nazi, comparing him or her to Hitler and the Nazis is legitimate.
Godwin's Law never was an actual logical construct. It was merely Godwin's opinion. The left knows this and selectively invokes it, even though the so-called "law" has no legitimacy.
