After the release of the records.

Up to four million Turkish citizens were reported to have sought access to their family tree within 48 hours – which is why the system crashed –

Should we mistrust Erdogan's motives? Yes.

And the following collaborates one of the families affected in more detail:

With this we are reminded of what happened to the Armenian Christians in the town of Cermik Hamambasi, in 1915. When a large amount of Armenians were brought to this town after being deported, a mob of local inhabitants surrounded them, looking for healthy children to take into their own families. A gendarme, mounted on his horse, arrived and wanted Heranus, a very young Armenian girl, while another man from a neighboring village wanted her brother Horen. Their mother resisted their demands, crying out: “No one can take them from me. I’ll never give them up”. But Heranus’s maternal grandmother tried to convince her to give up the children, saying: “the children are dying one by one. No one’s going to come out of this march alive. If you give these men your children, you’ll save their lives.” While they were arguing over this, the men came and simply seized the children.

The gendarme seized Heranus, and the other man took Horen her brother. Heranus’ mother held onto her daughter, but her grip was not strong enough. She let go and her daughter was taken from the man on horseback. Heranus was taken to an orchard where there were eight other Armenian girls, all snatched from the Turkish death march. The policeman took Heranus to his home where she was very well treated. The policeman and his wife were childless and wanted a daughter, so they adopted Heranus and gave her a Turkish name: Seher. Heranus’ mother actually survived the death march to Aleppo where she would live for the rest of her life. (See Rogan, The Fall of the Ottomans, pp. 180-181) Although her daughter was taken in and was well taken care of, the story is a reflection of how the genocide orchestrated by the Ottoman Empire led to a system of the Turkification of the Armenian population.

Turks- the modern day Nazis. He released the geneologies in preparation to marshal the Turk population against everyone else. He also knows the Kurds are 1/5 of the population and will not go quietly. DJT is going to have to set the conditions to kick them out of NATO, re-locate Incirlik, and arm the Kurds to the teeth.

Reminiscent of Hitler/Himmler’s Germanization program.

So what’s next? If you aren’t Turkish enough what happens.

This is interesting, but it only goes back to 1900, i.e., it allows you to trace the development starting with the year 1900 ethnic classifications.

I'd like to know the genetic profile over the millenia. I've often wondered how the Anatolian population changed throughout history, and what it ended up as today, as the place was successively overrun by different invaders, pre-Hittite, Hittite, Lydian, Celts, Greeks, Romans, many more, and then the Turkish conquest in the Middle Ages.

Did the underlying population genetics remain more or less the same over the millenia, with only the culture being changed by a relatively thin layer of successive invaders, or were there really major changes in the population genetics?

Studies like that have been done for the British Isles.

I don’t know if the article is accurate but I do know that Mr. Fisk has a checkered career as a journalist whose reportage should not be taken as gospel. See the word ‘Fisking’ for further info.

“Rather a lot of Turks, it turned out, were actually Armenians – or part-Armenians – or even partly Greek or Jewish.”

Erdogan is being stupid with this. You take a look at his picture and compare it with a Kirghiz person (a real Turkic person) - and it is apparent that Erdogan has less than a quarter Turkic blood himself. And most Turks have far, far less -- I remember reading that the average is about 5% Turkic blood -- and that varies from West to East (meaning increasing from West to East) up to Ankara and then decreasing again

"Turks" are a mix of Hittite/Lydian Indo-Europeans + hurrians/Georgians (Kartvelian peoples) + Celtic / Greek /Armenian /Kurdish/Persian/other Irani indo-europeans + Arabs + Albanians etc. and very little actual "Turkic" blood

Indeed we must. He’s deranged.
