The Los Angeles City Council Friday is considering a motion that would enact a plan to provide housing for every transient in the city, as it continues to grapple with a housing shortage which has spiked rents and sent thousands of people into homelessness. The motion, introduced last month by Councilmen Mike Bonin and Marqueece Harris-Dawson, says there is little evidence that anything is being done to create or improve shelters for the homeless in the city and that a true sense of emergency is needed to deal with the problem.

I know of not one 7-11 within 5 miles that dont have one vagrant asking me for cash. I interned many years ago at Union Gospel in Skid Row and it didnt shock me that these “homeless” were laughing of getting free housing, medical, dental, food etc..
yeah they were literally laughing. I go to the dentistry department and these clowns were getting $500 worth of cleaning, free of charge from USC Dentistry students and I had it done as part of my program. Far superior than paying my local dentist.
I was in LA this past Christmas. I haven’t been there in years and I was shocked to see so many homeless people in the city especially in Pershing Square, and all the areas near city hall all the way up to the 110 Freeway. Needless to say it smelled bad too.
Mayors across the country should be buying one way bus tickets to LA for their homeless.
No. If the average citizen thinks California is a homeless magnet now, just wait until ‘free homes for the homeless!’ becomes the order of the day.
There are some homeless people who could make it work, but I suspect the majority won’t take enough responsibility or do enough maintenance.
Good move.
For the rest of the country.
We keep hearing that a considerable number of the “homeless” are mentally ill and don’t want to live in a fixed abode. Assuming that is true, what happens to them? Round them up and make them live there?
L.A. will thus become the national No Pest Strip. :)
Im fine this with this. Afterwards we build a wall around LA.

There are two philosophies on solving a housing problem:
(1) One school of thought believes that deporting the 1 million illegals in the Los Angeles area will free up housing for real Americans. People who believe that also believe in the rule of law and want to see twelve million illegals deported quickly, to be followed by however many other illegals our country has but insiders aren’t counting.
(2) The second school of thought believes that enforcing the law is harsh and that the solution to having too many people who cannot afford housing is to make housing free. They also want to keep ICE far away from the diverse guest laborers who take care of their nice yards for low wages.
The second group has been in charge of California for a long time, and we see how that has worked. Their solution? More of the same.

I think they mean every transient in the nation (world) .
IDIOTS !
A good reason to sell your house, stash the cash, and move to L.A.
The homeless don’t want housing ...
Good. As long as they don’t ask for federal monies.
rents are skyrocketing because environmentalists have frozen new construction of any type for years and years. and years. and years.
I live about as far west as you can go in N.J. and I bet I can’t find 10 people here that will admit that they voted for shrillery.
You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.
Many are homeless because they want to be homeless.

impossible task: the more free housing you build for the “homeless”, the more “homeless” you’ll get demanding free housing. Won’t be long until everyone in Mexico who wants a free house will show up in L.A. ...
