That not allowing confused people with gender dysphoria in the military, is controversial among liberals, shows how far we have fallen in recent years, in my opinion.
At one time, it was a no brainier, that we would not have people with such conditions in the military.
Now the liberals have created a world and see standards of discussion, such that anything of this nature is seen as discrimination against people involved.
Tonke, it’s very different to deal with transsexual or gender dysphoric people in civilian life, vs. in the military.
An irony is that the liberals who push issues such as mainstream of transsexuals in the military, tend to dislike the military in the first place.
The supporters of gender dysphoria seem to be such as Pritzer - Dem candidate for governor in Illinois, the rich fellow in Omaha and similar. With obama in charge & dem presidents as far into the future as could be seen, there would be BIG money in gender change operations, paid for by the military and universal obamacare. It appears that Trump threw a monkey wrench into their scam.

Not irony. It’s Strategy. There’s a reason behind it.
It’s done intentionally to demoralize and destabilize the one force they cannot completely infiltrate and control.
And it’s the one force they absolutely NEED to control in order to finish the Country and our society off and remake it.
I don’t think the left really cares whether this hurts the military. It’s about transgenders being able to join the military and then have access to taxpayer funded sex change drugs and operations. Follow the money.
