The high-school-student-organized March for Our Lives this weekend has put politicians in an unusual spot: the back seat.
Although students are the driving force behind the D.C. march and sister marches around the country, elected officials and candidates from the District, Maryland and Virginia are finding ways to participate chartering bus loads of constituents, speaking at pre-march rallies and simply planing to be in the crowd.
D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) is leading a contingent of D.C. students, joined by most members of the D.C. Council and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D). They will meet at Folger Park on Capitol Hill before heading to the rally site on Pennsylvania Avenue.

>> I don’t see any marches from gun owners, do you?
When pro-lifers march in the March For Life, the media just does a blackout.
If gun owners rallied, it’d be a back page story at best, same as the TEA Party events.

Isn't Baltimore (the school system that can't afford to heat its schools) sending busloads of students?
DC public schools are 14% white and Baltimore's 7.8% (I looked it up).
Add to that busloads of rich (median household income $95,843 in the Washington metropolitan census area) liberal suburban offspring of the Federal bureaucracy.
This could become interesting!

The Students are collaborating with the non profit Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun control organization founded and bankrolled by Michael Bloomberg. The nonprofit website is taking donations, of course.

I’m guessing that at least one iPhone will be stolen in DC today. (Could be 100 or more.)
