Today chairman Bob Goodlatte sends a formal subpoena to the DOJ (Inspector General Michael Horowitz) for documents regarding the investigation of Hillary Clintons private email server, potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and the FBIs Office of Professional Responsibility recommendation to fire former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
However, its not the subpoena that should make the news. Pay close attention to the DOJ response:
Chad Pergram @ChadPergram
DoJ on Hse Judiciary Cmte's subpoenas: We are individually reviewing the remaining documents to ensure that they do not include grand jury information, information about ongoing law enforcement actions involving American citizens, or privileged attorney-client communications.
Oh, whats that? Yes, the DOJ has to review the demand for evidence because release of those documents might conflict with ongoing Grand Jury information (evidence). Yes, that means a Grand Jury is impaneled, exactly as we expected.
Yes, that also means there are law enforcement actions currently ongoing as a result of the prosecutor assigned to reviewing the evidence discovered by Inspector General Horowitz.
Are there still those who doubt?

I agree
If people would do some reading and research, instead of reflexively bad-mouthing Sessions, they would realize that this has been going for some time now right under their noses.
Do these people think Sessions is actually rocking on the porch, napping his time away as AG? Seriously?
Sessions has admitted in a recent interview with Fox News, that he appointed a DOJ prosecutor last July to work with the IG Horowitz, to put some prosecutorial teeth into the investigation.
The OIG Horowitz investigation has been going on since 2015 and has been working with the Nunes' committee hearings that just closed down. There are already indictments handed down but remain sealed until the final IG report is released.
Trump is getting his legal team in order for the rollout of the IG report coming up soon. Hiring Joe diGenovia was done to specifically deal with the IG report's recommendations.
Trump is toying with the media about wanting to fire Mueller and then saying he wants to meet with him, in his usual back and forth fashion. I believe Mueller's name will come out as one of the bad players from the IG investigation and Trump knows that.
Trump won't have to fire Mueller because Mueller may be indicted for conspiracy to oust a sitting president.
Wouldn't that be sweet justice and a complete turnaround in the Deep State effort to get rid of Trump? The pursued is now the pursuer.
I remain optimistic that what is really going on behind the scenes is not what appears to be happening on the surface.
Sessions is recused.
He said so under oath.
On these matters, Sessions has left the building.
Why do you persist at not taking Sessions at his solemnly sworn word?
Right. Like how the State Department is out of the loop on the North Korea deal and the Saudi purge deal.
Hahaha. Suck it, Swamp Dept.
No, He won’t. But he does have a sense of humor. How else would you explain Pelosi.
THANKS! Bob! So true!
I believe it, bobalu. Trump goes, when God permits it.
Cherubim aren't evil. Yes, they would kick your ass.
Go read the above article and be heartened. What you want is coming, if you can hold your britches for a while. In the meantime, I encourage you to be more positive and spread enthusiasm amongst your peers instead of negativity. The Donald needs us. We are his army. The people. Stay positive until defeat is sure. And then still be positive.
Trust the plan.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Well if this turns out to be true...It could very well give Q a lot of credibility since Q was the first to push this narrative.
Love it! ;o)
Yay. Love that movie and LOVE that character. BADA BOOM.
No. Any charges or indictments have to come from the "investigation" which is still ongoing.
Some indictments have already been obtained by the prosecutor Sessions appointed but remained sealed for now until the report is released.
But for any charges to stick, the investigation has to be thorough and contain hard evidence.
You don't just throw people in jail because the angry masses out there think it should be so.
They get these guys but it has to be done right or they will lawyer up and walk.
I’ll bet your wrong. We have to have patience, Sessions has to go by the book. It will take time, but the ball is rolling. Also heard today that McCabe is showing up for interviews with a criminal attorney.
what does this mean?
22 March: Twitter: Julian Assange: DoJ appears it will issue indictments against state backed hackers tomorrow. Deputy Rod Rosenstein announcing. John Demers, head of National Security division. The Russia collision and DOJ/FBI abuses are two separate matters. One deals with investigating outside foreign collusion while the other deals with potential DOJ/FBI violations of Federal law and abuse of power.
Sessions is obligated to investigate abuse/violations within DOJ/FBI regardless of Rosenstein or his recusal of the Russia matter. What Sessions is doing in an internal AG matter.
Mueller is free to investigate but the DOJ/FBI can’t violate the law in the pursuit of their duties.
Fake JA acct. But even if real, refers to Russian hackers.
