WASHINGTON (AP) — The House easily approved a bipartisan $1.3 trillion spending bill Thursday that pours huge sums into Pentagon programs and domestic initiatives ranging from building roads to combatting the nation's opioid abuse crisis, but left Congress in stalemate over shielding young Dreamer immigrants from deportation and curbing surging health insurance premiums.

The vote was 256-167, a one-sided tally that underscored the popularity of a budget deal among party leaders that provided enough money to address many of both sides' priorities. Further highlighting how eager lawmakers were to claim victories, the House approved the 2,232-page package — which stood around a foot tall on some legislators' desks — less than 17 hours after negotiators released it publicly.

The next step was Senate passage, which was assured.

My congress swamp creature probably wrote it and its a Republican. One of my two senators will vote for this POS. I’ll tell you I have no reason to darken the voting booth in November. I will and vote for local races but at the national level I really believe the GOP is trying to lose the Congress to hurt Trump because they are utterly useless and could care less what their voters think.

“Democrats got what they wanted”

Democrats probably are getting more than they wanted.

Sometimes competition doesn’t work well.

I’m disgusted.

Our currency might collapse on world markets.

No wall, no deal. I do not see why republicans should vote for anyone who supports this.

Remember if the pubs make cuts ALL THE MEDIA says they’re heartless cruel and hate women and kids and the poor
The dems being mute and at bay furthers MAGA because Trump shows he can get things done
ONLY with 4-5% SUSTAINED growth do we EVER pay off 20 TRILLION PLUS FUTURE LIABILITES

KEEP YOUR VIEWS LONG TERM FREEPERS

TRUMP IS OUR ONLY HOPE

This crap budget bill needs to be vetoed! Elections have consequences! The Democrats are not responsible here! McConnell is as he will not get ride of the filibuster and go nuclear JUST like Reid did when he was the Democrat Majority Leader in the Senate. So sick of these Republicans not manning up! Where is the funding for our huge big beautiful WALL across the southern border? Where? That is what the people want!

Funding baby killers, Schumer’s dark whole, illegal alien criminal sanctuaries, programs that build faulty bridges that collapse, and a health care bill that should have been repealed by the Republicans! It would have been true justice to repeal Obamacare via the nuclear option!!

President trump should veto this garbage. Congress is so full of it .. (RINO’s that is) i don’t think we even know how many loyal conservatives are in there. Only 25 R’s voted against this pos (in the procedural vote “rollcall 124” when it mattered 211-207 , just two more votes and they wouldn’t have proceeded. The 25 good guys are under the Noes 207 and are the ones NOT in italic,,,, http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2018/roll124.xml
even my freedom caucus rep voted with Ryno.this stinks. Freedom Caucus is so compromised they couldn’t even vacate the chair at this point....

It must be this one. The vote count is right:

https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/115-2018/h127

This vote passes the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018, aka the Senate amendment, which adds new text into the pre-existing bill H.R. 1625, the TARGET Act. As of Mar. 22, 2018, H.R. 1625 has not been updated with the new text.

I would like to point out, that senate rules require that all bills be read on the floor before being voted upon. In order not to have to do this, someone will make a motion for "unanimous consent" to skip that. If any single senatecritter objects that motion fails, and they have to take a roll-call vote to go on record for wanting to skip actually taking the time to read the bill, or they will have to read it. All multiple thousands of pages of the monstrocity. What this means is that every single senatecritter is personally responsible for having this bill slammed through the chamber without anyone taking the time to even read it.

It's all a game played to fool us in to thinking they give a damn.

So, explain to me, how if the fed takes in 1.9 Trillion dollars a year in personal and corporate income taxes, (not payroll taxes, SS, etc) how we are going deeper in debt every year with 1.3 TRILLION dollars in spending?

The political objective of an Omnibus Spending Bill is to make it as veto proof as possible. The normal appropriations process is a separate bill for each major department of government. Omnibus Bills means the president vetoes things he wants and needs along with things he doesn’t want or need.
