I agree with your thoughts on the European situtation, but I am not confident there won’t be carve-outs here to facilitate Sharia Law.

I'd be willing to bet that Sharia already prevails to a great degree in the muslim enclaves right here is the USA.
If muslims don't report crimes to the non-muslim police force, and if the police don't closely and thoroughly monitor activity in a muslim area, how will any outsider know what goes on behind closed doors?
