YEREVAN, MARCH 20, ARMENPRESS. The Turkish operation in Syria code-named Olive Branch is an act of disrespect towards the territorial integrity of sovereign state of Syria, since the Turkish troops freely invaded the Syrian territories and carries out military operations under the pretext of fight against terrorism, ARMENPRESS reports turkologist, Dean of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan said during a press conference on March 20.
Erdoğans steps have domestic and external components. The external component is, naturally, increasing Turkeys influence in the region and the reinforcement of its position as a key regional power. Turkey tries to show that in this region issues should be solved not by the countries located thousands of kms away, such as the USA, but the regional countries and first of all Turkey, Ruben Melkonyan said.
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğans steps ahead of the elections of 2019 also include propaganda goals.
I think Erdoğans steps also contain a very important domestic component, since Turkey approaches a very important electoral stage that will grant Erdoğan unlimited powers as the president of the country under the already established constitutional basis. Its true, Erdoğan had succeeded in a number of spheres in terms of improving the social situation of the country and neutralizing his political opponents, but he had a very important shortcoming he had not passed through a war and his reputation lacked the military component. With this operation Erdoğan also solves this issue. Apart from all these, Erdoğan continues the Ottoman traditions, he conquers new territories. I am convinced this will be one of the key points of his pre-electoral campaign. It will be noted that Erdoğan is the first president who manages to bring back, at least de facto, some of the parts of the Ottoman territories, Melkonyan said.

Turkish taking of Afrin Syria has emulated the methods of previous attacks. Even by using Merc's in the assault.
Remember Turks are Monguls.
Turkey will not stop in Afrin Turkologist sees danger of Turkish move to Armenian-populated Gamishli
I had a hunting buddy who was a turkologist. Could call toms in for miles around.
How do I get me one of those Turkologist jobs?
Don’t ask me.
This is important in light of things that have just happened in Efrin Syria.
Maybe they need to hire him to spot the Turkies among their Jihadi’s. Target the head not the feet and arms of their military.
So, the Turks want to finish the genocide they started in 1915?
Yes, they have just added targets to it.
Do you think there is enough -06 ammo left to end that?
I read the Turks were sending a load of M1’s back to the US. Prices from CMP sounded pretty high.
The time to buy an M1 Grand was about 15 - 20 years ago. It was — and still is — a superb platform.
I’ve never owned one. But 30-06 is certainly an effective cartridge.
I say bomb those Turkish bastards.
The venerable .30-06 is indeed effective. It is my favorite rifle caliber (obviously).
If I had to pick a single rifle and a single caliber, 30-06 would be it. I also like my 30-30, good reliable brush gun. Really suited to being reloaded with cast lead bullets. Cheap shooting.
The only pistol I own is a Remington XP100 .221 fireball, with 3X Burris long eye relief scope with low light optics. Amazingly accurate.
