I think the public pressure was to much for the Hennepin County DA. Groups as diverse as Black Lives Matters and the Australian government were pushing to have this minority hire cop prosecuted. The liberal forces of political correctness who wanted this swept under the rug were overruled.

We’ll see. Philandro had a gun. This woman had nothing and did nothing wrong.

The cop that shot Castile said he made a suspicious move. The cop that shot Diamond said she made a loud noise. In neither case is there any real evidence that the officer in question was in danger or anyone around him was in danger. But he shot anyway. Castile's killer was acquitted. It will not surprise me at all if Diamond's killer walks as well.

The cop will get the best lawyer. The DA will assign his weakest prosecutor. The cop walks. The DA says hey we tried.

I believe the DA is being careful not to overcharge the cop. Third degree murder and second degree manslaughter gives the jury a lot of room to find him guilty of something. Then the judge can give the maximum sentence.

And, you can bet they’ll go overboard to make the jury up of sympathetic minorities, out of fear of them burning the city down.

I figured he would get bail.
The Somali’s are trying to paint it as racial discrimination. The race card, hope it’s expired.

$400,000 ain’t cheap and the judge was smart enough to grab his passport and not allow him contact with his former partner.
