Not everyone in California is a liberal extremist or radical, open borders fanatic. In fact, there has been a movement around for years in Northern California to create a 51st state called "Jefferson."

Regional stereotypes will endure, even in the modern age.
Many of us out west still think most New Yorkers are loud and brash or eccentric and neurotic, because that’s what we saw on the old movies with Walter Matthau , Jack Lemon and Woody Allen. One learns to hear and not hear, based on the seriousness of the conversation.

No Lee, the new state would be Jefferson. So it could be Redding, Jefferson or Redbluff, Jefferson. They would not be connected with Ca.

Huh? Really? Based on hundreds of past FReeper comments, California should be nuked by North Korea or slide into the Pacific due to a cat 9 earthquake... to hell with 15,000,000,000 conservatives living in this state, including the founder and owner of Free Republic. Based on their stereotype, even Clint Eastwood is a raving Moonbat like our Governor, Jerry Brown. What's amusing is how they ignore issues in their own states. In actuality Washington and Oregon have gone way farther left than California, when was the last time you heard someone propose lat a large island in the middle of Texas be destroyed because it has been overtaken by liberals, what about the extremists on the east coast?
Of course many of these profound thinkers, that aren't half the wit they they think they are, pretend that all the negatives in their states came from California, because that's more palatable than accepting they have their own home grown socialists or that all the illegals entered California first and only after migrated to the other states. Considering that Texas has well over half the illegals in California and has become the preferred destination I look forward to how they handle it with the cancer of their university cities spreading.

They are going about this wrong. They need to sue in court that the State law is unconstitutional and nullify the law.

I am OK with nuking California from orbit, but can you wait a couple of years until I leave? If not, then I am still OK with it. My martyrdom would not be in vain. It would be 30 years before the Democratic Party won another national election. Without California’s 55 electoral votes, the Presidency, House and Senate would be in GOP hands for at least 2 straight decades.
There are more illegal aliens in California than there are conservative citizens. Think about that for a moment.

California is lost. It is a one-party liberal state racing toward totalitarian socialism. Detroit, but on a statewide basis.
California is lost at least until it goes insolvent and that could take 50 years or more.

This is Los Alamitos! Northwestern most part of Orange County, next to Long Beach, above Seal Beach. I am so proud of them!

California is lost, I don't care who lives here.
It is NEVER going back to what it was minus either a complete reversal of the Illegal Immigration that has flooded my state, a major catastrophe that wipes out the liberal population centers, or an honest-to-goodness Holy Spirit driven spiritual revival.
Thinking otherwise is just ignoring the facts on the ground.
As we converse here on FreeRepublic, the bastion of conservatives and the GOP, Orange County California, is trending further and further to the left.
We have zero GOP state-wide office holders.

That pisses me off too, the ignoring of us 15 billion conservatives here. I mean, there are a lot of us. The crazy noisy libs (who migrated from back east) at the coast would have you believe there are no conservatives here.
