Who would want Europe. We have pulled their nuggets out of two fires in the last century at tremendous cost to our youth. We didn’t want any of their land, then, except for a few acres to bury out dead.

That’s not what happened. We had war declared on us, in spite of the efforts of left-leaning leaders in DC (in both cases) to stay out of it. And now thanks to the cumulative efforts of their ideological descendants in DC, Germany thinks they can push the USA around again. Ignoring them a third time could be fatal.

You completely missed the point

The point is trade.

Will France stand with the union when French wine exports to America are threatened? Will Italy stand with the Union when Fiat sales in America are threatened? Will Brussels stand with the union when Chocolate sales to America are threatened?

Will Germany stand with the union when Bayer or Siemens exports to their American plants are threatened?

I’d take it but without the people. Lots of lovely old buildings, charming mountains, lakes, meadows, beaches and some decent micro climates.
