It’s called ‘double dipping’ and is as old as the hills here in MA.
But if they DON'T get that second career; someone ELSE will, and therefore the amount of money leaving government coffers is STILL the same; just going to different people.
We had folks retire and come back as 'consultants' because they were the ONLY folks who knew the job!
(Yeah; they DID get more money for that.)
