Sadly, you are correct, and this essentially means that we do not have representative government "by the people, for the people" anymore in America. We are a nation run by the 'connected'. They sit on university boards and define the path of American higher education. They own newspapers and television networks, and define what is 'news' and what will be spoon-fed to the public. They decide who will be allowed to run for and attain public office. They run the entertainment industry, and define our pop culture - determining the messaging that is embedded in our movies, writing, and music.
The rest of us can aspire to a better world, but whenever one of us pops up to become a challenge to 'the connected', they will try to destroy us.

Sessions already indicated publicly he has hired an experienced prosecutor from outside Washington DC to ‘review’ these matters. I suspect this prosecutor has been working for weeks (if not longer) and will start handing out indictments soon after the IG reports drop.

I have always wondered and continue to wonder WHY they do not get rid of the commies in a republican government? WHY keep people in your government who will do nothing but the agenda of the dimocommies and do anything and everything underhanded to stop your government from making headway. Fire every danged one of them.
I would hesitate to hope Mueller is anything but the swamp-rat he appears to be. However, one day before his appointment by Rod Rosenstein (a Trump appointee), he was interviewed by Trump himself. Moreover, the current OIG/Congressional investigations implicating all these deep-staters and Democrats were themselves opened at the insistence of these same Dems and their media allies.
It seems they are all playing right into Trump’s hands at every turn so maybe the Mueller probe turns out the same way.

The attacks on Sessions are getting old real fast. Since you brought up TV shows, I’ll cite one, too: real criminal prosecutions aren’t like watching an episode of Law and Order: They aren’t wrapped up neatly on TV for all to see in 42 minutes. They take time, coordination, and secrecy. And they can fall apart quickly if proper precedures aren’t followed. You and the rest of the Sessions bashers sound like a bunch of hyperactive, short attion-spanned millenials.

Sundance has pointed out that that the FBI Inspector General cannot put people under oath, only outside investigators can do that. Yet McCabe was fired for lying under oath...so maybe more is going on than meets the eye.

As noted below, the working theory is that those tweets were decoys, intended to give Sessions credibility as he (apparently) engages on a swamp draining of proportions never seen in this country. And they worked! You had DEMOCRATS in Congress threatening to impeach Trump if he fired Sessions.
But there is stuff going on. As pointed out by Sundance, McCabe was fired for lying under oath, which means there is an outside prosecutor poking around - maybe not a special prosecutor for the Dems and the media to beat up on, but someone. There is also an investigation in Little Rock, where the Clinton Foundation is based - whoops - the Clintons will have a lot of trouble finding friendly juries in Little Rock - they should have based it in DC, or NYC.
