It’s not all rosy for China. They have demographic issues in their not- too -distant future. Their senior citizen population is going to double within the next 10 -15 years. The gender gap already makes it difficult for marrying age males to find mates. They eased the one-child-policy, but there are still close to 120 males born for every 100 females. Single men without families just doesn’t work in their culture.
Please tell me what the appropriate tariff percentages would be for all the items the US imports.
Zero
Never heard of the Laffer curve or just dont believe in it?
Good. Trump made a campaign promise, and he has kept it - what a refreshing change compared to other politicians. My only complaint is that the tariffs don’t go far enough or cover enough nations - trade with China isn’t the sole reason for our massive trade deficit or for de-industrialization and capital flight.
Trump is supposed to meet Kim at the end of May. That would be something no one else has accomplished. As far recognizing Jerusalem, Jerusalem IS the capital of Israel. Retreating in the face of worldwide Islamic invasion never works. You cant show so much weakness visa vie your allies or your punishment will be much worse later.
Its called receprical tariff. You apply the exact same tariff as they do to us.
This is not rocket science as your previous post implied. Its basic economics.
We should put 100% tariff on anything made in China.
Check out the art of the deal...
Hoping to have your omelet while keeping the eggs intact???
I’d just be happy if China stopped killing our pets.
I doubt it, Everyone with money over there has a good chunk of their savings invested in america. their investment in us has doubled ours over there for like three straight years
You must be a democrat.
“endless Days of Rage being waged against us by the Palestinians over Trump boneheaded recognition of Jerusalem.”
They were not waging war before?
Congress passed the law. Trump just fulfilled it.
Benchmarking. The hallmark of lazy, substandard and inefficient managers the world over.
You think we should follow the strategies that led that man to multiple bankruptcies?
“Reducing taxes while ignoring spending adds to the debt. That makes it bad. “
Wrong. Two separate issues. You either don’t understand the Budget process or you don’t understand the macro effect of cutting taxes and its effect on revenue.
Cutting taxes does not cost anything. Revenue coming in is increased and thus generated. The problem is Spending and overspending.
Due to more revenue coming in, you should need to cut spending somewhat less. There is no political will to cut spending or entitlements. Cutting taxes, however is NOT part of the problem.
Unfortunately, there are no easy or clear answers these days.
The tariff announcements on steel and washing machines are window dressing.
This announcement is the window
Put tariffs on all the worthless crap that the Red Chinese ship over here to sell for $2.95. Cheap wood or plastic crap that lasts six weeks at best.
