How in the Hell is Michigan State a 3 seed? That’s ridiculous. All they did was win the regular season Big Ten title.

Gotta hand it to NCAA BB and the Virginia coach. Once it was out of reach, the last few minutes went quickly, without endless fouls and time outs.
UMBC coach Ryan Odom (son of coach Dave Odom) just made himself a multi-millionaire. Not bad for someone now making less than $200k.
Mich St was #14 on the RPI. That would make them a 4 seed. Only losses were to top 25 teams, and a strong program tradition got them a 3 seed. That’s about how things are done these days.

Wow, never heard of this school. Glad it finally happened, 16! Bigger than App State over Michigan? Maybe. Tyson/Douglas. Mmm not quite. Congrats to anyone that put money on the Retrievers.
And yet believe it or not this may only be the 2nd worst upset in Virginia bball history, in 1982 they lost to some school in called Chaminade University of Honolulu then in NAIA (now in NCAA division II), sadly the game wasn’t televised.
