PITTSBURGH Republicans will not be conceding anytime soon in a tightly contested special election in Pennsylvania, where Democrat Conor Lamb holds a slim lead over Republican state Rep. Rick Saccone in Tuesday's election.
Lamb's campaign and Democratic groups have declared him the winner, as he sits with less than a 700-vote lead. NBC News also projected him the "apparent winner" early Wednesday morning as more absentee ballots trickled in.
There are still about 203 absentee ballots and then additional provisional and military ballots left to be counted, but Saccone would have to capture an overwhelming majority of those outstanding ballots to win.
-----
A source familiar with the situation also told The Hill that the GOP plans to call for all ballots and voting machines to be placed under lock and key in case of a recount. And they are also likely to file a lawsuit based off of three concerns: confusion over the Pennsylvania secretary of State's new website, allegations that Republican attorneys were kicked out of rooms where absentee ballots were counted and that Allegheny County voting machines were miscalibrated.
THey should make Saccone do the recount all by himself for being such a s#itty candidate.
We shouldnt lose any....but if Conor actually wins, we’ve lost only one US congressional seat so far (this one), and one US Senate seat in Ala.
The rest of the Democrat wins are state houses ..... assembly seats. There are some 5,411 state representatives.
Losing 40 of those over 5,000 seats to Democrats is hardly earth shattering.
The magic Halfrican, Obama, managed to lose over 1000 of those seats in 8 years, about over 110 seats lost per year. (hat tip SmokingJoe)
In all, Obama’s tenure caused major damage to Democrats all over the nation and in the Congress where he reduced them to a minority.
Elections won by less than half a percent of votes cast should be automatically recounted. Having to ask for one casts the apparent loser in a bad light.
It takes a special kind of loser to complain about voter fraud in a district where the last Congressman ran unopposed ... and the current GOP candidate lost by a few hundred votes in an election where maybe 30% of the Republicans even bothered to vote.
Kudos to the GOP for fighting this. Many unanswered questions remain. This is my district.
Voting fraud is a disgusting stain on this country and if it isn’t addressed elections mean very little. The fact that there is voting fraud causes an unknown number of people to sit out elections due to discouragement or cynicism. Elections can be lost or won by a handful of votes; every vote matters.
Why is he a bad candidate? I know nothing about him.
So there is no record with voting machines to check for any fraud or illegality?
IMHO all elections should be paper ballots.
What happened to the commission to look into voting fraud? It seems to have fallen by the wayside.
District wont exist for long anyway.
What irks me is the Republicans ran a stiff. He had the charisma of a block of wood.
The Democrat was younger, more energetic and was actually more pro Trump than many establishment Republicans.
Trump cant do it all by himself folks.
In the absence of any definitive evidence of actual voter fraud, anyone who sits out an election over it is an 'effing loser.
"The White Hats are controlling the vote in PA-18 to force a recount. They know where the fraud is and they are going to expose it."
It takes a real gullible person to not want our system hardened against vote fraud. Because it is not hardened then we will never know who really would have won. Maybe we won and maybe we lost, but to bury your head in the sand and pretend that vote fraud does not exist is insanity. When you see democrat districts at 103% then what do you think is going on? There are groups out there that are proving it in multiple ways. But they will get nowhere if everyone keeps their blinders on.
I do want it hardened against voter fraud. But complaining about voter fraud every time some lackluster Republican in a heavily Republican district loses an election is getting tiresome.
RUN BETTER 'EFFING CANDIDATES ... AND BETTER 'EFFING CAMPAIGNS.

I'll bet you don't even know what the 103% is measuring. And knowing how arcane some of these voter registration processes are, -- especially in Pennsylvania -- it's not hard to imagine how an urban sh!t-hole district gets "103%" turnout.
This is not myth: Every election, the Philadelphia machines during elections in Amish and Libtard Wards end up having votes ALREADY counted for Rats before polls open and over a 100% turnout with 98% Democrat votes.

Oh I complain about it Before-After-and when there is no election at all. Win or loose. People need to wake up.
It is ironic that the Democrats thought they were removing a deep red district but will ending a sitting Democrats position.
Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and Jeff Sessions need to be fired
Probably true BUT thus time they are facing Trump.
