The White Houses suspicions over the motives of besieged FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe go back at least to the first months of President Trumps presidency.
The doubts revolved around a since-debunked February 2017 New York Times story that reported that U.S. intelligence owned numerous intercepts and phone records of Trump campaign officials communicating with Russian intelligence.
As recounted in his new book, Media Madness, Fox News reporter Howard Kurtz wrote that then-Chief of Staff Reince Priebus was conducting an intelligence meeting when Mr. McCabe called him aside.

It’s not the wiretapping that was debunked but the “communicating with Russian intelligence” that was debunked.
Indeed, the phrasing is not clear. Reader can’t tell for sure what is “debunked”
1) the story about intercepts and phone records of Trump’s officials
2) the story about the intercepts and phone records of Trump’s officials communicating with Russians.
We know that 1) is NOT debunked, quite the contrary because the FISA applications.
We also know that 2) is debunked because after more than years of investigation, Mueller and dems have nothing to show for.
