President Donald Trump has now spent almost one-third of his time in office at his own properties and has played more golf than President Obama over the same period.
The president has visited one of his properties on 112 days of his presidency, according to a count NBC News updated Wednesday in the midst of Trump's 10-day Christmas vacation at Mar-a-Lagohis private club in Palm Beach.
U.S. taxpayers paid $6.6 million in airfare alone this year for Trumps frequent trips to Mar-a-Lago, according to U.S. Air Force records.
Trump also spent part or all of about 40 days at his golf course in Bedminster, N.J., the Wall Street Journal reported.
The White House did not respond to a Newsweek request for comment.
Critics say Trump personally profits off his presidency by staying and holding political events at his properties, which in turn generates attention and free advertising for those businesses. It also allows wealthy club members to access the president and sometimes watch him conduct business with world leaders like Shinzo Abe.
Except for 17 days in August that Trump spent at Bedminster and his Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks, the president usually visits his properties on the weekends, according to NBC.
Trump criticized his predecessor for spending time on the links, tweeting in 2014, Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf. Worse than Carter.
But PolitiFact did the math and discovered that, as of last month, Trump had played golf 35 times while Obama had only played 24 times by the same point of his presidency.
On the campaign trail in 2016, Trump had promised, Im going to be working for you. Im not going to have time to play golf.

Here is the report from Politifact:
And accomplished ten times more in one year than Hussein in eight.
Newsweak is on its last legs.
and helped the country and its voter citizens big league!
I’ll bet more than 90% of the time that President Trump is on the golf course he is conducting business.
Something completely foreign to former president Obama
And accomplished 75% more then Obama did.
I remember Newsweek.
Newsweak: below yahoo news, mother jones and the huffington post in credibility. Hovering somewhere around cnn and nbc.
Liberals didn’t mind Obama being on the golf course all the time.
But Trump’s a Republican President and that is not allowed.
Newsweak: Madam President!

So he goes home for the weekend? What a dick. Impeach now.
So Trump is visiting his properties and playing golf on weekends. And Obama was probably playing during the work week.
Big difference Yuge!
RE: and helped the country and its voter citizens big league!
There is a difference between playing golf for golf’s sake ( personal pleasure at tax payer expense ) and playing golf WHILE CONDUCTING FOREIGN POLICY or THE COUNTRY’s BUSINESS such as hosting The Japanese Prime Minister or China’s leader to accomplish something.
Did they take this into consideration?
AMEN....not accomplishing anything was the idea IMHO.
Playing golf is an impeachable offense. I’m sure Newsweak pointed that out often while King Obongo was president.
So taking a break from Washington is an impeachable offense?
Got it.
Why are they complaining? I wish the usurper had spent all eight recent years that he was in power on the golf course instead of destroying America. They should be thrilled with any day that our greatest president since Reagan is not erasing their beloved petty dictator’s legacy of destruction.
Doing far more that Barry...including MORE GOLF! More winning!
So you love the criminal Newsweak and post their bs/trash on Jim Rob’s site.
Fake news and fake website traffic = Newsweak!

Newsweek was caught creating false ad traffic that resulted in its customers being overcharged for its advertising. In one case, it was 80 per cent. Both the Chairman and Finance Director of Newsweek Media Group resigned after a regulatory investigation of fraud was made public.
