It could come down to a recount.
Democrat Conor Lamb has already declared victory over Republican Rick Saccone in Pennsylvanias special House election, but Republicans say they arent giving up until every vote is counted.
The contest has still not been called, but Lamb leads Saccone by a few hundred votes. Theres no mandatory recount for a federal race in Pennsylvania, but Republicans have the option of petitioning for one.
"This race is too close to call and were ready to ensure that every legal vote is counted, National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Matt Gorman said late Tuesday. Once they are, were confident Rick Saccone will be the newest Republican member of Congress."

Geez, i can’t spell
This was the John Murtha district. It has long been Blue-collar Democrat.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbbOquqPmfA Is it over?
Of course. Lamb ran as a Trump acolyte.
Should he win, upon arrival in Washington he'll shed the façade and be a true blue Pelosi apparatchik.
Wolf Blitzed just called it a “major earthquake”..
I am really scared now because Wolf is the most smartest.
What happened? The Democrats ran a great candidate and again the Republicans ran a crappy one. It was like John Kennedy against Nixon. We surely could have come up with a better candidate. I’m getting sick of running half-assed candidates. They had someone young, good-looking, who speaks well and was former military. We should have won, easy.
If the candidates have to petition for a recount then do they need to provide some sort of justification? Like the voting machines in Alleghany County?
They've been counted. Some military absentee ballots may still be outstanding but those were only a few dozen. Even if all went for Saccone it wouldn't change things.
A prolonged legal battle could take this into November when it would all become moot.
My Gawd, have Republicans FINALLY learned to play by Alinsky Rules??
Murtha's district was north of this one. This has been solidly Republican for almost 20 years.
Some of the people who used to vote Republican now vote Dem, and vice versa.
Yeah, but before that it was solidly Dem.
absentees aren’t going to make up the difference...
GOPe ran a pre Trump Campaign and true to form got the expected results.
Horrible horrible messaging. I feel for all the people who worked hard on this campaign, they were put on a sheet of ice and told run to the finish line by the leadership of the Republican party who are as far as i’m concerned FLAT OUT INCOMPETENT!
This was an easy win, and they decided to run a campaign they could have run anytime in the last 15 years, gave the Trump I and D voters NO reason to turnout... and turned what should have been an easy win into a loss.
Gross electoral incompetence. If the GOP thinks they can run a Rove campaign in 2018 and win they are beyond stupid.
Trump handed them the blueprint to win, and they ignored all of it.
Idiots... flat out idiots.
This was Santorum's district.
For a Republican to be elected he/she has to win by 3% or more.
Imagine what would have happened if DJT won PA,MI and WI by 300 votes as was the case in FL in 2000.
This was a solid win that was lost due to GOPe incompetence pure and simple.
What was the task they needed to do to win?
Get the I’s and D’s who voted Trump to turn out and vote....
What did they do? basically offered red meat the reliable R voter and offered nothing else.
This was a complete lesson in how to take a sure thing and flush it down the toilet.
The rank and file folks fighted hard, hardest fight I had ever seen in this district, sadly the people steering the ship are utterly incompetent!!!! They Blew it on EVERY level.
fought
Send in the gaggle of lawyers to descend on the Dems.
This should never have been close....
This should have been an easy win.. the only reason it was close is because the Saccone campagin, the RNCC and the other national and GOPe pacs completely EFFED it on messaging!!!!
GROSS AND UTTER INCOMPETENCE!
They ran a pre Trump campaign in the post Trump era... this thing should have never been closer than 8 points... But they never EVER delivered a message to get anyone but the reliable R voters to turn out.. they ignored EVERYTHING TRUMP SHOWED THEM IN 2016 on how to win and just kept using the same old tired playbook...
As far as I’m concerned EVERYONE in EVERY PAC, the RNCC, ADVISORS TO THE SACCONE CAMPAIGN, and all the other folks who were doind ad buys and everything else, should be summarily FIRED.
They all showed such GROSS INCOMPETENCE that there is literally no reason to ever send another $ to any of them.
IF the messaging from this race is their plan for the fall, D’s handily take the house...
