Earlier this week we looked at the growing chorus on the left seeking to make the idea of abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) a platform plank for the Democrats in 2018 and 2020. This relatively fringe idea has been rapidly picking up steam in the commentariat, even though they havent been able to convince potential POTUS candidates like Kamala Harris to endorse it. The clarion calls to excise ICE from the executive corpus have rung especially clear of late. First, an essay by Sean McElwee in the Nation last week probed whether an unaccountable strike force executing a campaign of ethnic cleansing is compatible with democracy. (His answer: No.) Then, MSNBCs Chris Hayes asked potential 2020 presidential contender Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) if the agency, which Harris says has abused its power, should exist. (Her answer: Yes.) The movement gained another high profile supporter yesterday when op-ed columnist Molly Roberts at the Washington Post joined the parade. Apparently noting the reluctance of experienced politicians and generally sane people to endorse the concept, Roberts gamely goes to bat, asking whats so crazy about the idea of eliminating a federal agency.

‘Cause just like in 1857, they do not want their slaves taken away.
Looks like we need to abolish the fbi as well.
These people are truly insane............................
Not abolish it, just weed it out..................
Remember how the Dems were sympathetic to Wayne Lapierre’s remark about jack booted thugs among BATF agents? No, I don’t either.
Abolish liberals.
Round up. Of course it’s KNOWN to cause cancer in California. ;-)
Would never happen if illegals were prospective republican voters if they were given a path to citizenship.
What country can we import millions of immigrants from who have conservative tendencies and voting habits?
I would never genuinely support it, because I support proper immigration law and would never want to see legally pathed immigrants cut in front of, but just as a thought experiment, I’d be willing to bet that hypocrite liberals would be objecting polish or czech mass illegal immigrants
OK, let’s trade; we give you ICE’s head on a silver platter; you give us the Dept. of (mis)Education. Deal?
POTUS candidates like Kamala Harris

Ineligible.
Born with THREE nationalities.
NOT NATURALLY an American.
Let me make sure I have this correctly: They don’t want borders and don’t want enforcement of rules and laws...but want strict gun control.
How many people will come to and when will they come to the understanding that the Democrat party from top to bottom is openly trying to destroy America? Openly.
I can’t believe the left now considers removal of illegal immigrants as ethnic cleansing. Just amazing!
These people are totally mindless sheep.
The police make me feels bad - get rids of the police.
Better idea: Abolish Liberals.
Loud doesn’t make you right.
Laws and enforcement are r-r-r-RACIST!
When will people understand that most of the elected GOP are really undocumented Democrats in R jerseys hell bent on making America into North Mexico?
ICE at least has a delegated power behind it.
Whereas the Department of Education doesn’t.
Naturally the Democrats are opposed to any vestige of lawful governance and for any Arbitrary government.
