Part III. “Fake News?” – No Way! The story about the Parkland shooting, though tragic, has resulted in several positive outcomes. It has spawned journalists into action to do more investigative reporting. This three-part story covered in the past several days was investigated and is verifiable. The University of South Florida failed to report the incidents involving foreigner Abdul Quddos Hussein, who allegedly burglarized two buildings at the USF location in Tampa – the Registrar’s Office and the College of Engineering. However, the Department of Education allowed USF to get away with lying to them, thereby failing to uphold the Clery Act, which penalizes universities and colleges for not reporting campus crimes. Subsequently, this individual was charged with felony burglary by the State Attorney. His online statements as well as actions could have easily perceived him as a danger to others.
Just Give me the Facts
The reaction to this story has been met with an accusation that it is fake news. USF is reveling at the thought of discrediting this story. However, truth is often stranger than fiction so let us examine 10 points of truth:
1. On the night of June 27, 2015, Abdul Quddos Hussein (who has since changed his last name) broke into the Registrar’s Office at USF and stole a computer tower and transcript supplies. The same night, Abdul Hussein also broke into the College of Engineering. However, because this crime was not reported, we still don't know what was taken from there.
2. The USF Provost, Ralph Wilcox, interested in protecting his INTO-USF program, tried to prevent the story from “seeing the light of day” and sent his assistant over to confiscate and stop all emails about the incident to prevent it from becoming public record.
3. Officers Chris Daniels and Brian Pearson with the USF Police Department did not report the criminal activity to local law enforcement or notify USF students of this occurrence at USF’s main campus in Tampa.
4. The perpetrator fled the country going to Saudi Arabia or Iran.
5. According to former USF employee Tony Embry, the perpetrator created a near perfect fraudulent transcript.
6. The perpetrator has international ties to countries engaged in terrorism and his social media revealed specific information and tweets that could have easily been perceived as threats.
7. After the crime, the suspect fled the country and the incident was reported to Homeland Security.
8. Tina Jensen, FOX 13 News, broke the story and broadcasted news reports over several weeks.
9. USF did all it could to suppress the story from its students and the local community in order to protect the Provost's INTO-USF program.
10. The suspect was eventually charged with Third Degree Felony Burglary, Second Degree Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief.
Read and Verify
With so much fake news bandied about, it is almost better if in fact consumers read and verify. In Florida, verification is easy because of the Sunshine Laws. Just send an email to the addresses below and request confirmation of one of the 10 points above. The emails are from a directory and the recipients must respond to your inquiry if you say you are making a public record request. It won't be easy getting this information or even accurate information from USF, who of all the Florida universities and colleges, are the least transparent and least compliant. If USF Fix the Inside, Then They Will Be Clean on the Outside
In a recent article by the Tampa Bay Times entitled, “USF Works to Remake its Muddled Brand”, TBT reported how USF has hired a chief marketing director to fix its “muddled” and “incoherent brand” – one that supposedly lacks a theme. However, no marketing director can fix what ails USF’s tarnished image, because the things that damage their image go a whole lot deeper than simply not having a “theme.” or the right theme. It goes to the core of the health of the university, to a hierarchy that should make USF students, the USF community, and general public question their lack of integrity and noticeably absence of ethics, character, truth on many important issues – such as their lying to a DOE investigator and several others about the incident described above; such as Tina Jensen’s and Fox 13 News discovery of another USF scandal, their global initiative program scam reported on just last year; such as the fact that USF is widely known and believed in the black community to routinely engage in wrongful discrimination against both their black students and former black faculty and/or black administrators. Case in point, EIGHT ON YOUR SIDE, reported just last year how USF gave a “golden parachute” to a white administrator (as it routinely does) who was terminated and let go following an incident that occurred after Hurricane Irma. However, this is not at all true for black administrators. Former black administrators with longevity at USF have historically been given a “lump of coal” and are often made to engage in quiet and fierce legal battles to get the relief and justice they seek and are entitled too. Just read my earlier article on the subject, “University of South Florida Slammed With Discrimination, Twenty Count Lawsuit by Former Registrar” to see just how true this statement is. So before USF can fix their “muddled brand" on the outside, they must first deal with the corruption and lack of ethics that have infected and tarnished their brand’s image on the inside. USF desparately needs to clean up their act. This requires a good old fashion house-cleaning!
Any lawyers know if misprision of a crime is a crime in FL?
If so, USF and Broward County should be charged.

USF is RACIST for damn sure! Mr Douglas i do remember reading they did fire their longstanding “black” registrar. I hope she is sueing them and take them to the cleaners! And Why is the mainstream media not covering this? Are they trying to prorect USF from a negative reaction by the public and Is it in the court records if so?
I think this is shameful and the Provost should be FIRED for his coverup!!! As a student there i have always found him kinda creepy. The registrar office ran well with the previous registrar but has since been chaotic and a hot mess. Mr Jacob May be we all should make records request and see how far we get with USF.
