SAARTJ is a pop-up restaurant in the Louisiana city run by local Nigerian chef Tunde Wey who will be charging white customers $18 (£13) extra for their meal. Much like the cafe in Melbourne, Australia which charged a 'man-tax' due to the gender pay gap, SAARTJ is charging an increase to highlight the racial pay gap in New Orleans. In 2013, a study found that the average household income of an African-American in the city was 54 per cent lower than that of a white person.

I deliver for an Italian restaurant. It is not an urban myth. I expect to receive nothing from black customers. Especially BBF's. Occasionally I get surprised, but not often.
How does this work if my wife is black and I’m white?

Good point, “Affirmative Action is racist.”
You might receive two different bills.
Hi.
If that happened, my wife would punch the owner in the face.
Trust me.

No sense in moving .... he’s at home in NO!

Hey, Tunde: What is the educational level of blacks in New Orleans compared to whites? What is the skill level of blacks in NO compared to whites? Give me a comparison of the work ethic of the two groups. I would not be surprised to learn that it would be somewhere around 54 percent lower for one group than for the other.
Oh, and while you’re crunching the numbers on that, tell me how much more the costs are to the citizens of NO of crime by and welfare payments to whites compared to blacks.
Even realizing you’re not the sharpest chef around, Tunde, I bet even you can figure this one out. You should be charging blacks more than whites.
And by the way, I wouldn’t dare partake of the food in your restaurant, even if free. I don’t want food poisoning.
ACLU will be all over this....
Why am I not surprised that freepers - who once had a fit because somebody at the Cracker Barrel gave away a donut to a homeless person - would be angry about senior discounts!
Stupidest thread going.
He’s humblegunner without the charm. He’s also a newbie with too much time on his hands.
Don't know why any self-respecting white person would go to New Orleans. It's quite clear we're not wanted there. There's lots of other places to spend your entertainment dollar.
ROTFL
sad thing is the stupid white people will still go to this so called restaurant...
Phew. What. A. Jerk.
Nigerian chef charges white more.
Nigerian chef steals whites’land.
Nigerian chef shoots whites and dumps the bodies into a pit.
Sounds like a recipe for success.
Because the Chef spits on white people’s food.
Who would attend by the mere threat?
Come Eat at Joe’s, we spit on your food.
If you’re a federal employee, there is(or was back in 2003)a form for requesting to change your racial classification.
So racism has gone so far through the social justice system that its cool again? Just like mom jeans.
Different subject but about food in New Orleans. New Orleans has world class restaurants that serve world class food at a world class price. It is good but bring money.
However, New Orleans have many small grocery stores in lower to middle class neighborhoods that will have a few tables set up, always with a plastic checkered table cloth. They will only serve a few dishes. They are serving their local neighborhood. It has to be good as the customer is probably the kid you grew up with. The prices are reasonable and the food first class. A gumbo, a creole or an oyster poorboy at these little mom and pop places are the best. They will also have beer.
You will not find these places in the suburbs with rare exceptions.
isn’t Nigeria one of the African countries that banned white folks by constitution? and isn’t Nigeria one of the nations that engaged in slave trade tracing back beyond the 1500s? Specifically, at least half a million through the Port of Badagry?
