I’m afraid a lot of people are moving in that direction. They will never vote Dem, but the enthusiasm is waning and at this rate they’ll stay home on election night.

All he had to do was do what he said he'd do: Defend the Second Amendment at all costs.

But he failed me on my most important issue.

I'm all out of gas for the guy, now. See you -- MAYBE -- in 2020. The 2018's, I cannot get bothered to go to.

Yes, but either way I think the NRA needs to be pushed by members to go on the offensive. We could not even be talking about bump stock bans or banning purchases to 20 year olds if the NRA would just focus on getting a repeal of the unconstitutional gun control acts of 34 and 68.

We as a society would never accept thousands of laws regulating freedom of speech and we should not accept laws regulating the 2nd amendment. They are both mutually exempt from government meddling in any way.

Bumpfire stocks are OBVIOUSLY not machine guns. BUT:

You say the anti-gunners on the march? LOL!

Give them a taste of THIS: Videos: How to Bumpfire Effectively without a Bumpfire Stock! Turn UP your sound!

No need for a Bumpfire stock. Amazingly fun! Accuracy is naturally compromised, though. Short handgun cartridges have the highest cyclic rate, since less bolt travel is needed.

Bumpfiring is 100% legal, and safe in a properly maintained modern sporting rifle. Some gun ranges do not like it, though, because they feel you don’t have adequate control of the firearm. I am sure that could well be the case of you bumpfired a cartridge anywhere from 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester) on up.

Did anyone expect a different outcome from a populist? Obama couldn’t even take them.

If the language says “rate increasing devices” semi autos are at risk. Who is it to say how fast you pull the trigger is within the accepted “rate” .

Match triggers will be banned as well.

This is disaster, and it was the NRA that supported this.

Sad.

I mean I feel super good and all, but it isn’t going to be long before they realize their error.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIC8SMttjjo

And then what?

Well that's obvious...The problem then isn't the bump stock...It's that massive magazine...

But then you say, one could do that with a 10 or even a 5 round magazine...

The one sure fire way to eliminate the problem then, with the stroke of the pen is to do away with guns that that are capable of firing like that...

yeah, what’s next, Jeff? Hmm?

Yeah, does not take long for Ol Deep State Jeff to come after law abiding Citizens rights to guns and their attachments but when it comes to handing down JUSTICE, that would be a great big F NO.

President Trump's pick, not mine.....the 2A president......right. /s

U are going to have to be very convincing that the NRA was ever NOT for any of the many egregious laws the congress has passed since 1877. The NRA has been around for all of them, including the 1934 Act that started them all, and the 1986 law that essentially banned machine guns through obsolescence. Up to 1986 Congress had not banned anything, but why let that be a bother. No, the NRA has chosen to be bi-partisan and stick to giving grades to democrats when there isn’t a democrat alive that deserves a pro gun rating, since their entire reason for being is a ban on guns despite any claims to the contrary. I do believe that one can safely say, their position on abortion has killed far more people than their position on guns has saved anyone. The NRA has been an active player in the deception.

And yes I am an NRA member, but a most skeptical one.

Again, if we are going to rely on logic like yours to defend the 2nd amendment, we are screwed.

Apparently you wouldn’t recognize a good screwing, because it is already past tense.

Excuse me, we have been headed in the opposite direction since 1973 and Roe v Wade.

There is that clip thing again, and I am supposed to believe you know what you are talking about. That revelation alone should put payed to any more discussion on the subject at hand. You are in the wrong forum, and now everyone knows it for certain.

Scott will put Nelson out to pasture and be the next Senator from Florida. And I still don’t know who or why you are arguing about law enforcement!

That is because you a complete effing moron and you have no idea why we were given the second amendment by the founding fathers.

My shooting range requires special time/supervision when one wants to use a legal "machine gun".....they also require the same if one wants to use a bump stock because the effect is essentially the same - lots of rounds coming out and with even less control than with an actual fully automatic weapon.

Not trying to stir the pot, just pointing out that places concerned about safety, and full of gun enthusiasts, treat them like machine guns. No sense in requiring a federal license for fully automatic weapons if bump stocks are prevalent - seems like a real conversation should discuss whether to go one way or the other - take restrictions off fully auto weapons or treat weapons outfitted to fire in a fully auto mode the same as fully auto weapons.

Curious to see the conversations on this one.....said the Devil's advocate.....

-— the effect is essentially the same - lots of rounds coming out-—

The result is an essentially auto fire weapon.

Then FReepers relying only on semantics deny the fire is in effect automatic.

Although crude, the bump stock mechanism results in what is essentially automatic rapid fire

The problem is, a bumpstock auto weapon was used to slay innocents rather than progressive tyrants
