the NRA and all its members will be villafied 24/7 until hell freezes over.

We would be any way.
Yes, and did you see where I said IMO it infringes on the 2A? I agree wholeheartedly. However, my point in writing about the exemptions is that people need to understand what the new law provides/prohibits before we contact elected officials and/or speak to others...it is always better to have the facts, first.

He did the usual "conservative rising star" trick that guarantees a cult-like following over the last decade: show up out of nowhere, scream "TEA PARTY!!!!!" over and over, at the top of your lungs, and run for some major office as a private-sector guy who is fed with the status quo and wants a return to "limited government than the founding fathers envisioned". (you can also throw in all kinds of goofy things that will get this crowd to wither in orgasms, like declaring the 17th amendment should be abolish) No need to have any kind of track record to back up your rhetoric.
Why couldn’t this little fag have shot up a school in Rhode Island or something? I can’t abide this nonsense messing with the Senate race, we need that !@#$ing seat!
He had to do something, or the gun-grabbers would have passed something really bad.
He passed a bare minimum, while adding some reasonable precautions, such as allowing armed teachers.
You need to look at the whole picture.

You seem to forget the Republicans have the majority the State House and Senate. This law is worthless and does nothing except infringe on the rights law abiding citizens. They really didn't have to pass anything.
Problem is if they would have enforced existing laws, the shooting would never have happened. They didn't and Scott should have stressed this instead of signing new legislation. Meanwhile Sheriff Israel is still on the job.
As far as arming teachers, that part of the bill is a real joke and Scott himself was even opposed to it (but for the wrong reason). The amount of training required exceeds what the police have to go through. The counties can opt of it if they desire, and most counties in South Florida have already said they will. Plus, I believe the teacher has to pay a $500 fee.
The bump stock ban is a another joke. Cruz didn't even use a bump stock. Obama's ATF has already ruled that Bump Stocks are legal (and rightly so) since it's still only one trigger pull per shot.
We already had a 3 day wait(with exceptions) for purchases but counties could opt out. Now they can't.
The absolute worst part of the bill is raising the age to purchase any firearm to 21. This alone will be Scott's downfall. He can kiss the senate goodbye he's done. Second amendment supporters that I've spoken to here in Central Florida are furious at Scott for this betrayal and we have long memories.
Just Say No To Gov. Scott For Senate!
Calling it “gun-safety bill” doesn’t make it so.
Just Say No To Rick Scott For Senate!
