For any motivated Freepers in Fort Worth, TX, there is a leftist continent in the city government called "Task Force For Race and Culture" which is an innocuous-sounding name for Cultural Marxism. A town hall tonight will solicit citizen input into issues of the "extent [which] Fort Worth residents experience disparities in criminal justice, economic development, education, health, housing, and transportation that are attributable to race and culture?"
This is code for race baiting and homoFascism. Anyone interested in joining me, the meeting will be at Tarrant County College-South Campus at 6:30 pm.

What the heck is happening to my hometown?
It’s sickening, isn’t it?
To put it mildly, yes it is.
I grew up in a house near where Hemphill St. and Seminary Ave. cross.
Last time I was there, I thought I had taken a wrong turn and ended up in Matamoros.
That used to be my old stomping grounds, shopping and working at Seminary South from an early age. Now, that “mall” is like a Mexican flea market - with extra fleas.
Bttt.

These meeting are usually attended by the left of the left. A significant attendance by conservatives would send a loud, clear message that we’re not laying down for their cr@p.
Good luck, and thanks for going to represent normalcy. Please report back tomorrow. THANK YOU
I intend to. I’ve been in contact with Brian Camenker of MassResistance to see if any Texas Chapter members can attend. It would be great to represent the real citizens of Fort Worth.
As one conservative council member once said, these aren’t task forces but focus groups.
Is the Fiesta grocery store still there (facing Seminary Dr.)?
I don’t know. I seldom go down there.
The area has metastazized westward to 8th Ave.
Ahhh, yes the old open-air Seminary South shopping mall.
Thank you for bringing up that good memory. Spent many a day there in my youth.
Regardless of what it has turned into, that will always be ‘my’ neighborhood.
though these days it is need of a thorough fumigation, or two or twenty.
I hope a lot of good FReepers show up to the meeting.
We lived in FW for only 3 years, but it was my favorite place we lived. People were friendly, the city was clean ... I always said it was like living in a small town with all the amenities of a big city.
I'm sorry to hear progressives have wormed their way in.
My educated guess is that this “task force” was formed in response to Trump’s election and the fictional tales of woe visited on monorities as a result. I expect Trump to mentioned extensively.
Thanks for the info; let us know how it went.
I still live 5 houses from Rosemont Park. Most of the families around me are wnd 2nd and third generation.
Okay, the meeting was sparsely attended, but filled up gradually to about 150. It was essentially racial in tone, with mostly black (about 90%) and a few Hispanic.
The committee was composed of around a dozen and a half members who sat at a dais, city council-style, with speakers coming up to two microphones. One of the committee members is a radical left-wing Marxist news reporters for the local rag, Bobby Ray Sanders. Locals know who Im talking about. The literature handed out was about being non-judge mental, but judgement was the main theme of the evening. I guess they were referring to me.
Other themes were:
- DACA support and HB4 (Texas contested anti-sanctuary city law) condemnation
- Police bashing - throughout
- Demands to gimme!
- Implied but obvious contempt for the Trump administration
- Complaints that their side of town was a food desert - no one wanted to open a major grocery store there. (Robbery was a huge disincentive)
- Suprisingly, several speakers bemoaned the fact that police didnt give their drug-saturated area enough attention, all the while condemning police.
- Castigation of the committee, city council and mayor for being too isolated from their neighborhoods and fate. (I guess they wanted Snoop Dog on the council)
Many of the speakers were incoherent and quite amusing.
The committee is supposed to make some kind of recommendation to the city council after they do their due diligence. I cannot think that what they recommend wont be freedom-robbing.
See my report above.
