There has been a great deal of consternation, directed toward AG Jeff Sessions surrounding the ongoing FISA abuse scandal and the larger issues of unlawful DOJ and FBI conduct in their political investigation of candidate Donald Trump. It is a matter of great division amid people who follow the details.
That said, AG Jeff Sessions revealed tonight in an interview with Shannon Bream, that he previously appointed a DOJ official to investigate the issues delivered by Chairman Bob Goodlatte (House Judiciary), prior to receiving the request for a Special Counsel from Chairman Goodlatte and Trey Gowdy. Investigations don’t mean squat, if the people doing it are Obama buttkissers. The champagne bottle doesn’t come off the shelf until someone is actually CHARGED. At the CTH they are all celebrating as if all the scum from the previous admin are in Leavenworth or GITMO.
Ken Starr... Wouldn’t the Clinton’s love that? Like seriously, he almost got them back in the day and even made Bill give up his law license for lying under oath... Who knows, maybe this time it’ll be jail time.
Great interview with Sessions. He’s completely unfazed by Shannon bring up critical Trump tweets. That makes me believe there’s a lot of water flowing under the bridge that we don’t see.
I hear you, but I worry about how long it is taking, too.
Every day gone by without investigating this is another day Mueller’s team gets to dispose and silence witnesses. He can give them immunity, find and hide evidence, and simply screw things up into a legal cobweb-like tangled mess.
AND, more importantly, while the clock ticks, and the media ignores everything but Trump is guilty, the November election looms. If the democrats take back the House, Trump WILL be impeached.
How much of the vitally important conservative agenda of Trump is not or will never get done because the Mueller fraud continues while we wait to cross our t’s and dot our i’s?
Civil War Yankee General McClellan was beloved by his troops, but Lincoln needed a commander who would strike, not plan, re-plan, and plan again without action. Sometime the actual events in play force you too act before it is too late.
Are we too late? I don’t know, but please factor in that consideration.
The fact that Sessions is saying and doing Something, does leave a glimmer of hope finally after many months of him kissing the fbi and rosensteins butt, while blocking requests from JW.
None of that bothers me, or Trump.
Trump want’s it to *look* chaotic to surface thinkers. But behind the chaos is an order like we’ve never ever seen before.
Think about it.
He’s opening an investigation in to Holder’s Fast and Furious.
Keep up.
It might be perfectly in time for 18.
What about Johnny Cochrane?
” If the democrats take back the House, Trump WILL be impeached.”
Not a chance. Too many dems have criticized Mueller and the deranged who scream impeachment.
Won’t happen.
The ONLY reason Sessions (reluctantly) assigned someone to look into it, is because he absolutely got HAMMERED by Congress during public testimony around 3 months ago. I watched it. He had to be pressured hard.
Same with Rosenstein near the same date.
These guys are BOTH dragging their feet. The eleventy-D chess theory guys are plain wrong. Lots of them overlap with the Qooks, or Q-nuts as I refer to them.
Sundance (Mark Bradman) at CTH has flashes of brilliance, but is often flat out wrong. Remember 2 weeks ago he was saying the video delay at the school shooting was a purposeful plot to allow them to hide evidence. Where did THAT go? Oh yeah, disappeared, like all his wrong pronouncements.
Doesn’t stop his cheerleading sycophants (aka, commenters) on that website from sucking on his bunghole, though. “Oh Sundance, thank you for your brilliance! I would be lost without you!!!” But disagree, or point out where Mark Bradman is wrong, poof, you’re gone.
Mark Bradman used to run a pro-hillary site, just 2-3 years ago. When he wasn’t working for Publix. “Oh Sundance! May I kiss your butt some more?”
Ha!
Great idea.
drivel
you have no clue what’s happening beyond the anti Sessions groupthink
RUdy, Christy and another of the attorneys who helped to take down the NY NJ mob. (Can’t recall the woman’s name). You will see others in office already connected to that group —CW, RR Trump has known many of them for decades
He knows their work.
It's NEVER a good idea to underestimate Sessions... he's a mild mannered man on the outside - on the inside tough as nails - hard as steel.
“Go to Sundance to see sober and enlightening commentary.”
Love the reasoned commentary there. Twitter is pretty good too. Too many here apparently don’t even read though the impeccably researched post, let alone the commentary, and blow it all off with a very shallow comment.
Wictor calls them “surface thinkers”. Very superficial. Trump isn’t a surface thinker, Sessions obviously isn’t either, and no one on FR should be either.
Sessions already picked the person, read the article.
Just like Superman
Free Republic groupthink is at the root, non think
Really?
I don’t.
To democrats, it’s ALL about the optics. Too many of them want to oppose and complain, and whatever it takes.
Seriously, none of us here, as political junkies at one level or another, should be so naïve as to believe politicians do not crave power above all else, for what it gives them ($$$), and democrats especially. The ends justifies the means should be their motto.
The thing about impeachment, is it is nothing without a conviction. Do not confuse impeachment—an indictment—with conviction, which happens in the Senate. I do not think they can convict Trump in the Senate, but the democrats—and I have seen/heard them say this explicitly— want pay back for the Clinton impeachment at least.
They will impeach Trump knowing they can’t convict, just because they can. It puts an asterisk on his presidency that they desperately want to have.
Impeachment was supposed to be rare as hen’s teeth, but in the modern age I fear it becoming the norm every time the presidency is controlled by one party and the House by the other. Political theater.
The folks NOT like us, who only watch the evening news or CNN, and are not political junkies, are most susceptible to this. The conclusion is the House would never impeach IF the president hadn’t done anything wrong. Ergo, he did.
And yes, I hope I am wrong in the case of Pres. Trump.
