There has been a great deal of consternation, directed toward AG Jeff Sessions surrounding the ongoing FISA abuse scandal and the larger issues of unlawful DOJ and FBI conduct in their political investigation of candidate Donald Trump. It is a matter of great division amid people who follow the details.
That said, AG Jeff Sessions revealed tonight in an interview with Shannon Bream, that he previously appointed a DOJ official to investigate the issues delivered by Chairman Bob Goodlatte (House Judiciary), prior to receiving the request for a Special Counsel from Chairman Goodlatte and Trey Gowdy. You are right and it's exactly what Trump asked him to do. Another special counsel would take forever.
You realize that he has to, to beat a democrat head to head.
Were you in a meeting when the decision was made? If not, you have no clue how the decision was made and who's call it was, or wasn't. Again, the DAG is a presidential appointment, not an AG hire.
Anyone commenting on this issue with such certainly and finality has no basis, other than ego or some sort of bias, for pretending to be so certain at this stage.
When I see some indictments handed down, I might believe it.
What if his job is to see that no indictment come down, unless they are against Trump?
My FIRST question is WHY doesn’t Jeff Sessions lead the investigation himself?... he is the Attorney General and a former prosecutor.
Yes. Trump chose Rosenstein without consulting Sessions. He thought that a former corrupt Obama stooge would be a great deputy attorney general. Especially if his AG has to unexpectedly recuse himself.../s What a maroon.
[Sessions] picked someone who grew up in the department and knows how cases are decided, and should be decided. Jamie Gorelick, deputy attorney general from 1994-1997
with 13K sealed indictments, 27 investigations into leaks, The OG report, several congressional investigations to respond to, and Mueller’s investigation, etc, etc., I don’t believe he has the TIME much less the authority to run the investigation himself, lol..
Senator Jeff Sessions Confirms Prior Appointment of DOJ Prosecutor to Parallel IG Horowitz, NOT a Special Counsel
title had to be truncated...
real title in first response..
Congressman? (would love Gowdy..)
Senator???

OH! I see what you’re referring to - the title says “Senator Sessions”... lol! Sundance is getting goofy...
Rob Rosenstein has not given Sessions leave to charge even the low hanging fruit of obvious. (As your laser clear examples exactly represent.)
Rob uses Sessions for announcements only, or on occasion, he poorly briefs him for any required appearances, before investigative committees, on the hill.
Rubenstein makes sure Sessions knows so damn little that his testimony is a national embarrassment, making him look like a fool, a simpleton, and a seat warmer, who is in charge of nothing, actually.
Sessions is no simpleton, but his willingness to play that part is so striking and shocking that it gives way to suspicion that he is grossly under qualified, or carrying water for the swamp, by the gallons.
I think Trump covers for no one at the expense of his base. If he openly and regularly mocks Sessions, he is signaling that he is pizzed, and with good reason. Dayam.
Eggs Zactly! Sessions is recused, after all. He can not go around and be appointing attorneys to investigate Hillary related corruption in the institutions of the Just Us Department and the US Stated* Department. :/
clicking on the article calls him AG, not senator.
Must not be good news for the dems.
AG Sessions also appointed Lois Lerner to investigate IRS abuses against conservatives a few years ago....
It was like 1.5 times the number. So no “blue wave in Tx” like the dems were crowing about.
You can’t be serious.
He doesn’t have to name the person to have picked a person. Trump is “flooding the zone” so Sessions and others can work in peace and not have to talk about every little detail.
