The federal government can’t draft state officials, including state law enforcement, to enforce federal laws.
This was made clear when the USSC ruled that Clinton couldn’t force sheriffs to enforce federal gun laws. The court correctly ruled that elected state officials like sheriffs are sovereign.

In that case they can’t interfere. I am pretty sure a warrant for a prisoner about to be released has to be obeyed, but maybe the law is fuzzier than I think.
