The VA is YYYYUUUUUUGE. It is as bad as all the other departments. 1.4 million civilian employees in 2017. I was just searching for the largest companies. Walmart: 2.2 million. However, when I searched for medical companies the list included CVS, Johnson & Johnson, and Aetna, and that doesn’t include health systems (hospitals, docs, clinics).
The VA is doing too much with no experts. They are more like a jack of all trades, master of none. And there is specific research that Vets need.
This is obviously not a one man job. There should be a board or something. I’m not sure of the best way to run this type of multifaceted corporation.
Sure as hell not like the government.
