Yep, I’ve read the chat, too, and that’s where I saw the hatch time. Just didn’t see any sign of the eaglet while I was watching then. Couldn’t see anything due to the nest bowl being so deep.
River’s being so relaxed tonight says it all though. Now if that dratted owl will stay away tonight!
I didn’t know anything about drama at DNN last night. Owl? Varmint climb up?
It was a sunny, dry day here but chilly and windy. No rain forecast until Monday so maybe things will dry up a bit. Still water standing in a lot of spots.
You accomplished more than I did today. I made the mistake of pulling up the DH cam and that was all it took. LOL
It was the strangest thing. When I clicked on it, Mrs N was all fluffed up and making little whimpers. i thought she was laying an egg. Then there was another eagle. At first I thought it was Mr N, but in the FB group they said it was an intruder. He stayed a VERY long time, moved the nesting materials around, and all the time she was clearly not happy. Once he got to close and she snapped at him. Then he went to a branch and she went to sleep.
I think Mr N then ran him off, but he came back later. I could tell because she started the soft whimpers again. He [or she, I suppose] was a beautiful young eagle. He also came on a flyby this morning and Mr N chased him off and I think he has finally gotten the hint. It was an interesting evening to say the least. I just knew you were watching or i’d have said something. i was doing that while watching my too-long show. LOL!
Glad it has quit raining for a while, so now if you could get some of my warmth and I could get some of that rain, we’d be good to go. :)
I tried to go to sleep early but that didn't happen. LOL! Got back up a little after 5 a.m. and went out with the camera. The moon was low enough in the west to hit the "river" in Clara's field and a ditch carrying water from the back yard. Turned out not too bad.
