SHOOTING UPDATE: 10:43 a.m.
Central Michigan University police confirm two individuals were fatally shot at Campbell Hall on campus this morning. The deceased are not students and police believe the situation started from a domestic situation

Central Michigan University, in middle of Mt. Pleasant, MI; 30,000 students. I first saw it this morning. I have a 17 year old granddaughter who goes to the hair-cutting/beauty school only about a mile away. Her school is on lock-down and she is driving home for the day, she was at a scheduled doctor appointment this morning, and is safe, so far, according to her mother(my daughter). All I know. Oh, I live by the railroad tracks about five miles from the CMU campus. The railroad runs right through the campus. Instant escape route if suspect is on foot. Sunny but cold morning. All I know.
The City of Mt. Pleasant is reporting the suspect is a black
male and considered armed and dangerous. They also have all
city buildings on lock down and are not accessible to the
public, including McLaren Hospital, and Sacred Heart Academy
is on lock down.
Michigan State Police are confirming that two people have been shot.

Oh, one other thing about Mt. Pleasant; it has a Republican Chief of Police, I’ve met him several times, he’s one of us! And competent.
Weather is clear and sunny, no snow, but cold. I’m 6 miles from the CMU campus.

Just getting a jump on things, but it will surely turn out to be the fault of the NRA, IMHO.
It's a teacher's college, writ large. Great Army ROTC school. The city votes Republican, I worked on the 16 campaign.
I appreciate the additional information on where this happend. I initially assumed it was Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh.
When you report something remember, What, Where (city and state), When, Why.
We may never know the why, but the the what, where and when should be requirements for any post like this.
I have lived in California for 4+ decades, and I probably don’t know where half the cities are.
Drugs is the first thing I thought. Especially if this took place outside the residence hall.

Almost all dorms are co-ed now. It makes better economic sense.
