With the clearly unethical and most likely criminal behavior of the upper management levels of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) exposed by Chairman Devin Nunes of the House Intelligence Committee, there are two complementary areas that have been conveniently swept under the rug.
The first deals with the murder of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer Seth Rich, and the second deals with the alleged hacking of the DNC server by Russia. Both should be of prime interest to special counsel Robert Mueller, but do not hold your breath.
The facts that we know of in the murder of the DNC staffer, Seth Rich, was that he was gunned down blocks from his home on July 10, 2016. Washington Metro police detectives claim that Mr. Rich was a robbery victim, which is strange since after being shot twice in the back, he was still wearing a $2,000 gold necklace and watch. He still had his wallet, key and phone. Clearly, he was not a victim of robbery.
This has all the earmarks of a targeted hit job. However, strangely no one has been charged with this horrific crime, and what is more intriguing is that no law enforcement agency is even investigating this murder. Follows reports that Mueller is going to adopt, endorse and amplify the narrative that Russians hacked the DNC.
One news report asserted that "Russian hackers leaked the emails." Clever juxtaposition of "hack" and "leak" there, to jumble to mind.
Was an official autopsy ever released? I think not...
... it is well known in the intelligence circles that Seth Rich and his brother, Aaron Rich, downloaded the DNC emails and was paid by Wikileaks for that information.

Yes, the inclusion of his brother in this was new to me...
The autopsy was a private matter...handed over to the family. Beyond that, nothing has been said in public.
I lived and worked in the Arlington area for 3.5 years, and read through the daily news over DC, the two Maryland counties and Arlington over crime a good bit. I’d never been to the region and became fascinated over the various criminal elements existing in the region.
Most of the hundred odd murders in DC each year...was mostly black on black type situations...pay-back or revenge type killings, or simply ‘disrespect’. So it’s a bit rare to have some white guy killed...then the cops say robbery, when there’s not a single thing missing from the guy. I would add that most folks who are robbed...probably on the scale of 99.99-percent...don’t get shot or stabbed as a result of the robbery.
The one aspect though is the time of the murder...4:20 AM. There’s a typical trend on most robberies in DC. If you frequent the subway areas...you go when there’s a lot of potential (say 5 PM to 9 PM). Going out to rob a guy at 4 AM? It’s just awful rare. The neighborhood? Upscale to some degree and just a 20 minute walk from the White House. He leave the bar at 1:45 AM. That’s roughly 2.5 hours from the moment that the gunshot is noted (they added the sound technology into the city a year or two prior). It’s 1.8 miles to his apartment where he’s noted being near when shot.
A guy can typically walk a 1.8 range in about 35 minutes (walking slow). A bit faster pace...maybe in 25 minutes. So the question...if you subtract the time...what was he doing out on the street for two empty hours? Walking in circles? Was he drunk enough to just walk west and then realize his mistake? This is the part of the story which makes no sense. The last two hours of Rich’s life, and he obviously stood there and had a conversation with someone. With the bruises that he had....it wasn’t a friendly conversation in the end.
Is Aaron the one who was LAUGHING on that video holding a toy that was Seth’s favorite after Seth was killed? It was a totally weird video interview.
You know the usual suspects in the press are going to dismiss the WaTimes article as conspiracy, and will trot out police spox to dispute certain facts.
What will be telling will be the volume of support for this OpEd.
Also interesting is that in the past couple weeks, following the indictment of 13 Russians for not filing the paperwork to make their 1st amendment activity legal, a number of swamp creators made a point of insinuating that the real dirt was Russian hacking of the DNC, and Trump being a knowing participant even if "after the hack, before Wikileak publication."
Aaron Rich was actively attempting to shut down anyone looking into the WikiLeaks connection according to Rod Wheeler, who was brought on as a private investigator in his brother's murder case. ...Big League Politics has also released an audio recording of journalist Seymour Hersh stating that Seth Rich was in fact WikiLeaks' source.

Everybody from the cops to the emergency room doctor were Hillary supporters if I remember correctly from an article at the time of the murder. Also,Hannity was all over the incident and then backed off. And then there was a cryptic warning from Podesta to anyone leaking information by DNC staffers. A lot of people have scandals but dead people always surround Hillary’s.
If that’s the same brother that was laughing and holding Seth’s PANDA, well, Northrup Grumman is lowering their hiring standards!
Interesting that a well-respected newspaper should print this. I wonder if the tide is cresting on Washington corruption.

A red herring is a political diversion which draws attention away from something of significance. The term probably dates back to the early 19th Century, in which a dead fish was dragged across the trail of a scent, and the bloodhounds would take off after the new and much stronger scent, abandoning the original trail.
This is what has been done in the instance of Seth Rich and the hacking of the DNC e-mails, when the narrative of “Russian collusion” was asserted against the Trump campaign and the Trump Presidency. So long as the attention is diverted away from some very real crimes, the tumult and cry continue to go off in an entirely different direction, until the original trail is grown cold.
Fake news is a very real political tactic. And one that we shall see repeated again and again, because, on the short term, it works.

IIRC, his initial doctor at the hospital was suddenly replaced with another one for no particular reason. Medical staff assumed he would live, considering his condition. New doctor enters; Rich dies. New doctor’s name is on list of Obama White House visitors —
more than once, I believe — prior to the incident.

The two officers had the body cams on and Seth was awake for 30 minutes talking to them, yet it has never been released.
