Trump does to the left what Lucy did to Charlie Brown with the football. These gun control proposals will go nowhere in congress and Trump knows it, just like DACA.
But in the interim, the left will introduce full Assault Weapons bans, and make noise, the NRA will increase funding and membership (already up 500,000), and all the lazy-asses who would have sat out the nov 2018 vote will show up and give Trump a more Republican congress.
This is just like DACA. We can and should complain, but there is no reason to lose faith in the Trump until something bad passes, which I am pretty sure it won’t.

Make it easy on yourself - don’t pay attention to what he says. Words are negotiating tools, they are used and tossed aside as needed. Pay attention to what he DOES.
Has he done anything that supports all your pearl-clutching? No. He’s accomplished an amazing 60%+ of his agenda in one year.

And in the hysteria of 1968, the blame was Movies that glorified violence, TV shows, comic books, pulp fiction, toy guns.
So toy guns disappeared from toy stores, TV shows for adults but safe for kids were dumbed down to kiddie shows, comic books changed their format, Pulp fiction changed their blood and sex soaked covers.
Meanwhile the movie industry said they would police themselves with a joke of a ratings system. Scenes were reshot to ADD more blood and guts, sex and violence to obtain the coveted “R” rating.
Wonder what will change now with video games and internet games.

Sounds ominous, but he was talking about obviously mentally disturbed who are potentially dangerous according to their family members. He illustrated this statement with the current school shooter, who had been visited by the police 40 times in just a few years, and people had told them that he was dangerous. It would have been better to error on the side of safety, than to wait for weeks or months to go thru the court system. He did not mean to just take guns from people for no reason or as some type of general confiscation.
Symbolic of what, exactly? And if it stands, does that mean the next Dem president gets to use an EO to ban high capacity magazines?
well said, and the NRA female spokesperson agrees saying this shooter committed a felony in FL law by writing these threats and the SHERIFF botched it by not arresting him and talking the guns.

I see Trump as transparent to use the fad word. What you see is how some conduct business meetings, of an exploratory nature.
To me this is not bad, or good. It just is.
I credit him for having the self-confidence and courage, to do this immediately after this horrible event.
Number 4 is that it was a dog and pony show and when the uni-party brings him a bill he’ll reject it just like he did with DACA.
