Remember one thing from the DACA meeting. “I will sign what you bring me”.
To: deplorableindc
I seriously doubt that. He said a lot of things in the past several months about DACA...amnesty...etc....that made the democrats swoon with joy we have a deal and yet in the end nothing of the sort came from it. Wake me up when he actually signed something that really breaks hearts

Pretty soon you notice that President Trump gives an incomplete statement, basically withholding a second sentence.....which nullifies the first....if necessary.
He likes to ponder....he throws stuff out there...and you can do with it as you wish....but always remember....nothing is EVER definite until it becomes factual.

Trump is absolutely wrong on this one. There are laws that allow the authorities intervene with due process. The authorities totally failed to recognize the threat in Parkland. Allowing them to ignore the Constitution would create more problems than it solves.

“nothing is EVER definite until it becomes factual.”
I agree. No harm though in letting the President know where we stand on the issue.
To: deplorableindc
I see this as Trump dumping a bag of various, and assorted solutions, right, or wrong solutions onto the table to entice the room to participate in open discussion for the purpose of getting something done.
I used to do this with my own management team at a company I managed years ago. I called it “batting practice”. Throw out a ball (subject of discussion), and everyone takes a turn batting the subject around until we achieved some progress, or a home run.
It is not an unusual management tool.

He’s trying to convince Republican congressmen to pass legislation against our Second Amendment. That’s the problem with the arguments coming from our Balkan gallery.

What he said was a Constitutional abomination. You dont throw out that kind of stuff if you believe in the second, fourth and fifth amendments.

You throw it out looking for a return. Feinstein's glee is a perfect example.
Remember Schumer's glee after a DACA meeting with the President. How'd that turn out.

I agree with you absolutely. He used the same technique on the Apprentice.
President Trump hates a podium....but sit him down and surround him....and he owns it.

"There are laws that allow the authorities intervene with due process."
That's right. There are drug dealers and addicts carrying weapons with permits all around our communities, because the police don't want to try to bust them. There are whole states full of people high on drugs and permitted to carry. Neither Trump nor the other politicians, due to their own cowardice, want to touch it.
Look at the recent mass murderers. Everyone knows what kind of chemical influence they were subjected to in the womb.

Good grief lets run around in circles and give up now. Trump is more pro Second Amendment than any president we have had in recent decades. I will wait to see what happens and until then I am not particularly concerned.

The problem is, then it is too late.
Loss of guns is loss of freedom.
Loss of rule of law is loss of country.

I have hope this was the same, but he threw out some utter awful and unconstitutional stuff and torpedoed the carry law. This did not seem the same as the DACA meeting. He was off the rails, IMO. I hope it was smokescreen stuff.

Trump knows that (most) Republicans and swing-state/conservative-state Democrats don't want anything to do with gun control. He knows he can tone down the media-created gun-control hysteria by saying things like this while also knowing it will never pass.
