Scoop: Besieged Sessions dines with Rosenstein in show of solidarity
Axios ^ | Feb 28, 2018 | staff

If Donald Trump finally follows through on his rage and fires Jeff Sessions, the image with this story will be printed in history books.

Tonight at 7:35pm, the Attorney General strode into a high-end Washington restaurant to dine with his deputy Rod Rosenstein and the Solicitor General Noel Francisco.

The symbolism was unmistakable: the three top ranking officials in the Justice Department appearing together in a show of solidarity on the same day Trump is publicly and privately raging about Sessions.

When Trump sees this photo he'll have to absorb a concept that some of his aides have been trying to impress upon him for nearly a year, since he first began telling them he wanted to get rid of Sessions.

The concept: Fire Sessions, then what next? Are you going to fire Rosenstein too? And then what after that?

Sources close to the situation say today feels different than Trump's usual rages. Sessions' allies are deeply concerned and Trump is totally fed up with his AG.

Trump has been taunting and publicly humiliating Sessions for months now, but his tweet this morning was as rough as any he's sent:

"Why is A.G. Jeff Sessions asking the Inspector General to investigate potentially massive FISA abuse. Will take forever, has no prosecutorial power and already late with reports on Comey etc. Isn’t the I.G. an Obama guy? Why not use Justice Department lawyers? DISGRACEFUL!"

-- Really?? Is this more 3D or 4D chess from the Gun-Grabber-in-Chief here? --

Huh? I don't follow your question. I remarked that Trump knows his ability to fire Sessions, Rosenstein, etc., and is aware of the political optics and legal constraints pertinent to firing those individuals and filling those vacancies. Given that he knows this quite well, it is risible to accept the article suggestion that somehow this picture of Sessions, Rosenstein and #3 dining together is going to "awaken" him to those contraints.

No chess involved.

Sessions is their BOSS. I would be worried if he were NOT meeting with them!

I’m no Jeff Sessions fan, but the fact of the three of them meeting, at a dinner that was probably scheduled some time ago, means absolutely nothing, and I wish everyone wouldn’t take counsel of their fears over an Axios speculation and assertion!

Now this is Sessions just Rubbing Trump’s face in it. Sessions is not incompetent. He is a very effective weapon against Trump and is covering up the crimes of the Obama Administration and the deep state. Trump faces a very tough choice. Either fire Sessions and as many more at the DOJ as necessary and face the wrath of Congress, and possible impeachment or be gelded, death by a thousand cuts, and made a laughing stock. The DOJ/Mueller has unlimited resources to persecute and destroy those around the President. Trump will become increasingly isolated until the coup plotters think the time is right to strike.

Yes he has and all of those here, who say that Sessions is doing things well in secret/it’s just a “ploy”/playing 4D chess ( the STUPIDEST phrase ever and over used to boot )/that they “TRUST SESSIONS”/don’t want any of the rest of us to trash Sessions, etc., are THE singularly some of the most naive political naifs alive on planet Earth ever!

Oh, for God's sake. If only it were possible for Trump to fire him if that was the case. If only. You people are as gullible as any liberal.

Hey Jeff, you have blown your legacy as a decent man if you have chosen to protect the DOJ, the FBI, and the Obama Administration over the American people.

Or, some possibility that 3 guys working in the same office got hungry after work.

“Axios spin and fakenews.”

The simpleton surrender monkeys on FR won’t see it that way. They’re professional whiners who sit in front of their computers all day and whine like little girls.

Scoop: Besieged Sessions dines with Rosenstein in show of solidarity

Jeff Sessions is looking at lot like the other 2 Atty Generals "Loretta Lynch" and "Eric Holder".

We just to find out who recommended this idiot Jeff Sessions as the Atty. General, since it seems he has that deer in the headlight look all the time plus he is so incompetent!!! What else does President Trump need to part with this guy since he is a big mistake as our Atty. General.

He needs to be fired, replaced or give him a swiff boot in the behind so that we can proceed with the Real Collusion of the DNC & Miss Hillary Clintoon with the Russians.

Mueller, Rosenstein and now Sessions do not care about President Trump's & congressional concerns that we need to look at the Russion Collusion by Hillary and the DNC.

Sessions will not do his job and of course our infantile Media is one complete joke. Sessions will not be on the job much longer.

Even the Freeper nation knows all about the Clintoon and DNC collusion. James Comey refused to look into this collusion since he worked for the Clintoon Foundation!!!

We know that Mueller will not even look into the DNC and Clintoon Russian Collusion since he does not like President Trump. We now know that it was Rosenstein who selected Mueller as the special prosecutor. We know why now!!!
