I really enjoyed the part where Trump told McCarthy that Feinstein was also talking about security being a part of the Daca/border issue when we all know Feinstein meant no such thing.

I’m against getting the feds involved in CCW reciprocity. I just know that it will result in federal standards for CCW eligibility (New York and California are NOT going to go along with Constitutional Carry). Then when the Dems get back in charge, we will see national CCW standards become FAR more stringent.

I agree with you stance but admit to not thinking about Congress or ATF setting CCW standards. That's slippery slope stuff.

To put it simply, Congress has no power to legislate CCW reciprocity. None. Nada. The Constitution offers a remedy: the Interstate Compact. Those States that want in, go in. Others can stay out.

In another thread, a dear reader compared this to recognizing gay marriages. Off point -- that was a Supreme Court interpretation, not an act of Congress. Congress would have no power to do the same.

Like it or not, we live in a common law legal system. The Constitution means what the courts say it means -- that's why Supreme Court appointments are so important. The legal definition of the 2nd Amendment is contained in District of Columbia v. Heller, it applies to the States through McDonald v. City of Chicago.

If you are going to find CCW reciprocity in the 2nd Amendment, you'll have to do it through the courts. Congress cannot.

I want to see a ban on print publications with more than ten pages.

A high capacity magazine ban!
...way too much propaganda in those hi-cap magazines.
And those semi-automatic black printers are not needed for Sunday sermons

Nobody needs they many pages to get their point across.
They stood be limited to the printing speed of our founding fathers

Isn't mandating a state's reciprocity with another state's laws a violation of state sovereignty?

Ya think? Any such law would deserve to be struck down on 10th Amendment grounds.

Fugitive Slave Act--similar problem, right?

And where is DACA now?

I will certainly admit that Trump's style is hard to listen to.

He used "build the wall and make Mexico pay for it" as tool to kill DACA.

We don't really need a wall. We need a fence sufficiently effective that illegals must pay many hundreds of dollars for help to cross the border. And we need a change in national policy that denies work, welfare, health care, or any other benefit to illegals so that they cannot even earn what it takes to pay for coming in.

And finally we need an enforcement policy that deports often and quickly, punishing repeat offenders with jail time.

The Oakland mayor just used her inside contacts to warn illegals that raids were coming. It is being claimed that ICE nabbed about 200 instead of 1000. When we get the security tightened up on enforcement the numbers will go up.

If Trump uses his persuasion to convince the gun-grabbers to reach too far and the effort fails in the Senate, then Trump will have helped the NRA. We'll have to wait and see.

One possibility is that Trump will eventually put some poison pill in the gun bill that will ensure its failure in the Senate due to lack of support by Democrats. It might be national reciprocity that eventuall gets in the bill. Or a measure that disallows barring teachers from concealed carry. Or a bill which allows easier institutionalization of the mentally ill. ( I personally get a kick out of seeing the idiots treat mental illness as if it an all or nothing proposition; ignoring the fact that many of us are either a little crazy or even more than just a little.)

Meanwhile, let's rid our computers of Symantec products and get rid of our NRA credit cards until the NRA gets a replacement for the Gun Grabbers of Omaha.

Not sure how to read your comment, do you prefer Hillary? Or do you fear criticism of Trump? Or have you drank the Kool-Aid and stand by him regardless of what he says or does?

Consider this, if people don't speak up, would we not be signally what he says or does is okay? Wouldn't we deserve the result?

“If you want Republicans to fight against gun bans, elect Democrats.”

Looks like that’s what we need to do now. The Republicans take guns owners, Christians, normals in general for granted the same way the Democrats take minorities for granted and ignore what we want just like the Democrats ignore minorities.

No, you don’t give them a damn thing. If he’s half the negotiator he thinks he is, you come back with “I’ll do the background checks, and raise the age to 21, but in the same bill we get CCW reciprocity nationally, and eliminate the NFA completely. Then you have a place to negotiate from. You don’t start negotiating by giving in to the other person as a starting point. Surely he knows that.

Just saying we have no reason to panic and deciding to ‘teach trump a lesson” by giving all the good away out of spite - I’ve sent messages to Trump and as of yet, he hasn’t done yachting but make statements..some chill pills are in order for now.
