The Phony NRA Boycott Backfires
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | February 28, 2018 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 02/28/2018 12:08:08 PM PST by Kaslin

RUSH: I told you yesterday it was gonna happen. I told you, I made a big deal about it too. I didn’t say it quietly. I didn’t whisper it. I didn’t say it so that it wouldn’t be noticed. I shouted it and I proclaimed it out there, and now it’s happening. “Companies Cutting Ties With NRA See Their Public Opinion Plunge.”

I predicted this yesterday. These companies overreact to the Drive-By Media and these fake boycott campaigns ginned up by the left that are largely driven by bots and not real people, and they fall for it because they think they are reacting to a majority of public opinion, but they’re not. “A new poll reveals that some companies that decided to sever their business relationship with the National Rifle Association after the Parkland, Florida, shooting have plunged in their approval from the public.”

Now, granted, it’s a public opinion poll. It’s not really sales data yet. But this is just the first phase. Conversely, I mentioned that companies like FedEx, which do not buckle, are going to increase their business manifold times. It’s gonna be almost a geometric expansion in appreciation for having a spine.

“The Morning Consult survey,” which is a serious polling company, “was conducted February 23-25; it found that among Democrats, approval mildly surged for the companies, but among Republicans, approval hurtled downward. MetLife Inc., which cut its discount for NRA members last week, saw its unfavorable rating double from 12% to 24%, with its favorability rating unchanged; Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s unfavorability rating also doubled, from 12% to 25%; Alamo Rent-A-Car’s more than doubled, from 10% to 24%, and National Car Rental’s also skyrocketed from 11% to 25%.”>

The latest, I don’t know if you know this. There’s an NRA TV channel, and it is available on Apple TV. So now Apple is being hit up. They’re not being hit up. People are being urged to boycott Apple. Now, you talk about spitballs against the battleship. It’ll be inconsequential.

Now, I’m going through the Stack. I do the show prep, and I have my Stacks of Stuff. Folks, I’m telling you here today, two weeks in, the stack of gun control news, everything related to the Parkland shooting and offshoots on gun control. I have more gun control articles here than anything else that I’ve got. And that includes some holdovers from yesterday that have nothing to do with gun control that I didn’t get to. And it’s not even close.

And what this shows is just how determined the Drive-Bys are to advance their agenda, the anti-gun agenda, pro-gun control agenda trying to keep trying to take advantage of this story and just blindly proceeding without any sense of proportion whatsoever. I mean, they’re putting everything on the table. And I think it’s because they think this is the perfect situation. They think they’ve got this one. They’re gonna cause great damage to the NRA this time, and they’re not gonna stop.

I hope the dems keep pushing their anti-gun agenda. Not sure there is a more dedicated group of voters than gun owners that feel threatened.

Rush.....61% of American voters believe that guns had little to do with the shooting in Broward County, Florida. They blame the shooter, the School Board, the Sheriff of Broward County and his police force, the social workers of Broward County and, of course, the failed FBI, for the clear & obvious reasons that everyone knows. End of story!!!

The boycotts and marches against the NRA are going nowhere. The poor uninformed, foolish school kids have been used and abused by crooked, Democrat Party Politicians. SAD!!

After all this virtue signaling, these businesses won’t make one red cent pandering to the libs. Idiots. FedEx came out with their big anti gun rant before saying they won’t discriminate based on politics, and the libs still slammed them. Viscous jerks.

Two men were out walking, and they saw a fox chasing after a squirrel. Now, both men knew that a fox runs faster than a squirrel, and yet the older man said that the squirrel would safely escape.

After a few seconds, the chase was over with the squirrel safely up a tree. The younger said “How did you know the squirrel would escape. He should have been caught by the faster fox!”

He said, “Very simple. The fox was running for his dinner, but the squirrel was running for his life!”

These gun control enthusiasts are trying to score cheap political points while conditions are favorable, but they will soon be distracted. Gun control is one of a thousand causes they “care” about, but over the long haul, it is probably not even in the top ten.

Gun owners, on the other hand, know that if they lose their rights, they will never get them back. They know they have to fight, every day, to maintain the natural right of self defense. They never forget, because they know the gun grabbers can come for them at any time.

The gun control enthusiasts will be on to the next cause by this time next month. They will forget all about Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Dicks Sporting Goods. Gun owners, on the other hand, will never forget who stabbed them in the back this week. Twenty years from now, there will still be people who drive across town to buy ammo, or shoes, or golf clubs, rather than spend their money at Dicks.

They are running for their dinner. We are running for our lives. It is as simple as that.

These people think they are damaging the NRA? What a laugh.

NRA membership, guns and ammo sales and gun training and marksmanship classes go through the roof every time the Left explodes with their gun control or gun safety or gun bans rhetoric.

It always has the opposite effect from what they think their anti-gun messages will have on the public.

And this time, with all these scripted "children" coming out to be used by the Left and their media darlings as their attack dogs (shame on them), going after the NRA, Trump, GOP, guns, corporations, and any entity that doesn't agree with their every word, I am even more disgusted with the Left's behavior and tactics than ever before.

Little do these teens know but this "conversation" will calm down and eventually turn silent like it always does, and the liberals will wad these kids up and throw them away, like they do with all of their other political stooges.

As always happens, the Left thinks they have the answer to these mass killing incidents. But in their excitement to get the guns, they forget they have to actually do something besides hash-tagging everything.

I would like to see the US become the Switzerland of Western Hemisphere. Everybody owns a gun. Everybody is trained to use the gun. And they have zero gun crimes. Proven methods work.

I agree with all of your comments. Well-presented.

These know-it-all, scripted teens that the Left is using as fodder for their gun-control fight, will find out soon enough, that they are just tools of the Left for as long as they are needed and then they will be wadded up and thrown away as quickly as they appeared.

Just more flotsam and jetsam of expendable political stooges employed by the Left.

The gun-grabbers fail to understand this axiom:

2A costs the Democrats money. A lot of money. Democrats: you want to hurt your party? Try sustaining a gun-grabbing narrative in an election year.

Every blessed billion the Democrats spend on gun-grabbing is wasted. Why? Because it never moves the needle in their direction.

Deep-dived statistical voter data on this issue reveals one constant: there has never been, and there never will be, a systemic, paradigm-shifting move by 2A supporters to become gun-grabbers.

Thusly every anti-2A dollar they spend -- whether it's Soros' EveryleftistUSSA or Sheriff Iresign or just some mayoral boob -- is merely reinforcing the feel-good, selfie-taking, virtue-signaling, truly demented Leftist who already supports gun-grabbing. That kind of onanism is...expensive. And useless.

The Democrats in the know, know that their annual gun-grab-circle-j*rk is the most unaffordable and doomed-to-fail 'pushing a string' budget item, and yet they cannot possibly say "No", particularly given that Bobo purposefully pogromed the Blue Dogs on the Obamacare vote.

Poll shock: 50% back arming teachers!
NRA boycott hurts boycotting firms not gun lobby!

Two unexpected results from new polling in the wake of the Florida school shooting finds that President Trump enjoys support for his call to arm qualified teachers while companies joining a boycott of the NRA are facing a consumer backlash.

In the first of two Morning Consult polls, 50 percent said they back armed teachers in schools, a quick fix backed by Trump and first suggested by the National Rifle Association. Some eight states already allow armed teachers in schools, and another six are considering it.

The left is for gun control because guns in the hands of Americans is what is keeping them from doing what they have planned.

The kommunistas are making a strategic error in going after the NRA - they are just ONE flank of the entire gun rights alliance - for there are many. They evidently choose to ignore (at their peril) other national high profile orgs, like the Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, JPFO, NAGR, Second Amendments Sisters and so forth, along with a whole bunch of state organizations, gun clubs and sportsman groups, which may include people with memberships across two or more of those organizations. That's a lot of people and a lot of clout. All the attacks against the NRA have done is to galvanize and mobilize widespread opposition to their histrionics.
