The 1994 AWB had a list of 'features' of an Assault Weapon, and a rifle could not have more than two of the features. As a result, AR15s no longer had flash hiders, bayonet lugs, or folding stocks, but retained pistol grips and detachable magazines, and ARs remained for sale.

This AWB ban would ban a rifle with ANY of the features, including detachable magazines and pistol grips.

“How is it any different than the 1994 AWB?”

It doesn’t have a sunset so it would be permanent forever.
It doesn’t ban bayonet lugs and folding stocks, it bans all semi automatic rifles and pistols that have a detachable magazine.

It bans transfer of legally held "pre-ban" weapons and magazines.

"What's that? You invested thousands of dollars in these guns? Sorry, but selling them is now against the law. But hey, at least we're not confiscating them."

"Yet."
