AUSTIN â Early voting for the March primary is more than half over, and Democrats have outpaced Republicans at the polls on each day.
Through Sunday in the 15 Texas counties with the most registered voters, 135,070 people had voted in the Republican primary and 151,236 in the Democratic. Compared with the first six days of early voting in 2014, Democratic turnout increased 69 percent, while Republicans saw a 20 percent increase.

The Democrats have contested primaries in Texas this year. The Republicans have a lot of incumbents running with little or no opposition.
An appeal that is meant to drive fund raising.
Now that every illegal in the nation votes or has been given the right to vote, you will see more and more until voting laws are changed, guess who will change those laws? It’s rapidly approaching they day when we can officially say the U.S. is no more.
Doesn’t shock me...no competitive races, other than that Bush grandson. The Dems have a WIDE OPEN field for every major position.
In 2014, Republicans won EVERY statewide race by 20 points. The Dems will have a tough time improving much on that, providing that the media doesn’t spike news of the election (i.e., not tell anyone so that Soros can make sure only Dems know about it...which is why we keep losing these races).
The farthest Left candidates will be running against GOP conservatives in Nov. They have zero chance, unless lazy Republicans don’t show up to support the President. Then they will deserve defeat by the Socialist/Communist transplants from Leftist states and Mexico.
The biggest counties are the bluest, so even this is a competitive showing by the GOP.
GOP voters might be comfortable with their frontrunners, or either GOP candidate running.

I'd rather vote for an enemy that I know opposes me than to vote for a relative of a man that voted for Hillary in spite of being a "republican".
Anybody that votes for Bush is a dumba##. I loved his commercials on how much he "supports" Trump and how he supported him all along. What a bunch of cr@p.
Anybody with ties to the Bush, Clinton or their administrations acolytes needs to be on a permanent "no go" list. ever. for about 3 generations.
Look at how the bureaucracy is filled with Kennedys, Bush, Clinton, and all their grifter family members. The NGO organizations and "Foundations" all are just money laundering, tax evading schemes to keep power and money.
Someone should write a primer or a blog on how "Foundations" allow money to be shielded by the rich while yapping about how they would LOVE to pay more taxes and are against those "greedy" capitalists.
Illegal aliens always vote for freebie giving democrats!
The Democrats will pick who they pick. You can’t control this.
And the rest? Your comments reflect a “conservatism” that would sooner suicide than accept a fence crosser like Donald Trump.
Agree - but President Trump needs to put a bit more effort in that a tweet or two. Alabama was simply unacceptable. If Trump wanted Moore to win, he should have flown to Birmingham, had a rally, then fly to Huntsville, for a second rally. Not fly to a neighboring state for a rally.
Well the Bush grandson did support Trump in Nov. 2016, which is news for that bunch (giving an idea of just how sick that family is). So he has some claim to being a Trump supporter, but not much...since he grew up under Jeb and has a Hispanic mother...makes it hard to believe his support isn’t ‘calculated’.
Your attitude gave us two terms of Obama.
It is the primaries - large turnout for the ‘Rats is no forecast of turnout next November.
The democratic agenda is too evil, I think they will still have to wait some years for this scenario to play out, abortion and same-sex marriage, people don’t want that.
All the same, Texas became a minority-majority state in ‘05, minorities became the majority of school children around 2010 or so.
There are definitely warning signs and not just to say “it’s only in such and such counties”.
It’s really about demographics and little else.
Early voting is when all of the fraudulent votes are cast. We need to see what happens when the legal votes are cast.
I live in Texas and always vote for Democrats in the primaries and never vote for them in the general election...so once again, the polls do not necessarily dictate the general outcome.
An early vote still only counts as one vote. Early voting was way up in the 2016 election for the Dems but all they were doing was cannibalizing their election day votes.
