FedEx announced Monday it will not cut ties with the National Rifle Association (NRA), despite pressure to do so after a mass shooting at a Florida high school.
The shipping giant added that it still opposes civilian access to assault weapons.
FedEx views assault rifles and large capacity magazines as an inherent potential danger to schools, workplaces, and communities when such weapons are misused. We therefore support restricting them to the military, the company said in a statement.

However, the company said it does not and will not deny service or discriminate against any legal entity regardless of their policy positions or political views. FedEx has never set or changed rates for any of our millions of customers around the world in response to their politics, beliefs or positions on issues, the company said.
The company's positions on assault weapons and large capacity magazines stands in opposition to the NRA's views on both issues.
Numerous companies have faced pressure to end their relationships with the NRA following a Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 people dead.

I love FedEx. No unions, cute guys in shorts, pro-gun - what’s not to love!!!
“Numerous companies have faced pressure to end their relationships with the NRA following a Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 people dead.”
Pressure from who?
Not their customers. Who else matters?
They have had hard times finding UPS Stores in my experience sometimes.
No complaints with Fedex people.
I was glad to hear this. I prefer Fedex, they are usually efficient and on time.

I have an old Remington .22 semi auto with a 17 round capacity. Is that an assault weapon?
Yes, Id sure like to see the breakdown of exactly who was demanding they dump the NRA. Customers, or other? Well never know.
Liberal NYC Madison Avenue execs.
I have an old Remington .22 semi auto with a 17 round capacity. Is that an assault weapon?
Its assault like (semi auto, over 5 rounds). Again, they try to control words. Gay used to mean happy.
Mine have never been 'misused' nor have the ones belonging to friends/family. The potential danger is in the criminal, not the instrument.
So.... a 31 billion dollar industry is more important than the opinion of some kid who was a 7 year old nose picker when Obama was elected, and wasn’t even an indecent thought on 9/11?
Was thinking the same thing as I read the article. Baseball bats can be misused and kill as can common products in the janitors closet. Focusing on the tool is juvenile.
Read the entire statement. FedEx is trying to butter both sides of their bread, and they can’t have it BOTH ways. It’s just another “we support the Second Amendment, BUT....” kind of statement.
“FedEx Responds to Questions on the National Rifle Association, Gun Safety and Policy
February 26, 2018
FedEx Corporations positions on the issues of gun policy and safety differ from those of the National Rifle Association (NRA). FedEx opposes assault rifles being in the hands of civilians. While we strongly support the constitutional right of U.S. citizens to own firearms subject to appropriate background checks, FedEx views assault rifles and large capacity magazines as an inherent potential danger to schools, workplaces, and communities when such weapons are misused. We therefore support restricting them to the military. Most important, FedEx believes urgent action is required at the local, state, and Federal level to protect schools and students from incidents such as the horrific tragedy in Florida on February 14th.
FedEx is a common carrier under Federal law and therefore does not and will not deny service or discriminate against any legal entity regardless of their policy positions or political views. The NRA is one of hundreds of organizations in our alliances/association Marketing program whose members receive discounted rates for FedEx shipping. FedEx has never set or changed rates for any of our millions of customers around the world in response to their politics, beliefs or positions on issues.”
Screw FedEx.
Why can't they have it both ways? It's a free country, and they can have whatever opinion they want. You can choose to boycott them if you want. However, they did not cave to demands to deny service to the NRA. Leftards can boycott them over that if they wish. Seems fair to me.
I believe FedEx is the only way to legally ship a firearm. I returned a firearm to S&W for repairs, and it had to be shipped both ways in a specially marked FedEx box. That might be part of their decision. Follow the money!
I have to wonder why a business (the owner that is) feels compelled to have a public political position on any issue, alienating half their customer base. Would be better to just conduct business and stay out of the debates!
As always, the left is open to everyone’s opinion as long as it mirrors their opinion of the day. If you don’t agree, they want you to shut up.
[[We therefore support restricting them to the military.]]
That doesn’t include militia?
HELL YES, MURDERER, BABY KILLER, RACISSS, HOMO-PHONE, errr, HOMOPHOBE, XENOPHOBE, DEMONRATOPHOBE, and many more phobes.
I don’t know how FedEx is “pro-gun” when they are opposed to “civilian” ownership of semi-automatic weapons.
And we’re “citizens,” FedEx, NOT “civilians.”
I don’t use FedEx and I won’t in the future. FedEx can go to hell.
