Three high-ranking Florida officials close to the law enforcement response at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tell Fox News there was a delay in Emergency Medical Service getting into the school in the critical moments after Nikolas Cruz allegedly opened fire, killing 17 people and wounding at least 14 others.
Two separate sources told Fox News some of the EMS teams who requested to enter the school were told they could not. One source said it was the Broward County Sheriffs Office which was the commanding office that ordered some of the EMS crews not to go into the school when they requested to enter.
Whats going to come out is, in the communications on several circumstances, there was the request to enter... the request was denied from Broward County, a Florida official told Fox News.
When you have a police agency saying we dont want you going in, thats a problem, another Florida official said. The training since Columbine has been [that] first responders, police go in immediately with paramedics.
One fire official said if there was a delay in the deputies' response, it would have had a domino effect on EMS.

Horrible. Tip of the iceberg, methinks. This stinks to high heaven.
Thanks for the ping, SE.
On August 1, 1966, Charles Whitman killed 14 people from the U.T. Austin Tower. I was four blocks away on a summer job pouring the 5th floor of a dormitory. I was 18. I heard and saw every shot.
On this thread tonight, we’re talking about “response times” at Parkland. I can tell you that of the dozens of wounded that day in Austin most were picked up by civilians, sometimes under fire. Few involved, if any, “waited” to be told what to do regarding the wounded. Individual citizens made life saving decisions. Injured people were immediately driven to Breckenridge Hospital a few blocks away where my sister was on duty. There was little if any waiting for EMT’s and ambulances or even police.
The police officer that made it to the top of the tower was accompanied by an armed civilian and both shot Whitman and Killed him.
Armed citizens were firing back at Whitman with their rifles that some had in their car and some went home and got them.
So, as for Parkland, Florida, yes, based upon my own first hand observations at the Whitman shooting, there was a lack of leadership at Parkland but also a general lack of courage amongst too many adults close by. I believe as a society that we have to expect and demand that those on the scene of something like this ACT. Sure there will be exceptions. But, our societal expectation should be “ACT”.
As Trump said..........”I believe I would have gone in without a gun”. I believe him!
I’m no conspiracy theorist, however, what is coming out of this fiasco is starting to sound like the word was out to let this massacre play itself out and that CNN already had their propaganda assault team and “town hall” shows ready to go after the killings. JMO.
