Donald Trump has renewed his criticism of an armed sheriff’s deputy who failed to enter a high school in Parkland, Florida, during a mass shooting this month, saying he would have run into the building even if he did not possess a weapon.
Addressing a gathering of 39 state governors at the White House, Trump said officers who were outside the school at the time of the shooting “weren’t exactly medal of honor winners”.
“The way they performed was really a disgrace,” he added. “I really believe I’d run in there even if I didn’t have a weapon.”
The president spoke as lawmakers returned to Washington following a week-long recess and amid intensifying debate over gun laws.

I recently read that Hoggboy wasn’t even in the same building.
so much BS out there, I am taking that one with the same grain of salt as I do a lot of the others.
As much as I’ve read of this over the last week, I’ve yet to confirm just where Hoggboy was..
How could someone sit there, with a loaded gun, hearing gunshots and screams...and not do something. I can easily see myself being scared to near immobility, but I think the realization of what was going on, and that I might be the only one who could save lives and do anything about it I would hope be enough to prod me into movement.
I would not want to live the rest of my life dwelling on my hunkering down to save my own. That would be awful.

So, if we credit the deputy’s statement, Trump’s saying that despite not knowing where the shots were coming from, and despite the fact that the only visible victim was outside the school, he’d run past the deputy and the officer into the building. Does he honestly believe that, if the shots HAD been coming from outside, the headline the next day wouldn’t have been “Shots ring out, President runs and hides”?
Any one of those kid’s mothers would have done it.
Are you aware that he wasn’t at the entrance?
Beats me.
They probably wouldn’t tell us, either way but I can’t imagine being the one to force him to hand over his weapon.
I would not be surprised if he still does.
At least I hope he does.
He could’ve at least fired shots into a wall to put off the shooter’s concentration.
*Maybe* if he thought someone was actually about to cap him, he’d have run off.
Think of it this way: never criticize someone for not doing something unless you are willing to do it yourself.
