President Trumps plan to arm selected teachers has already been in effect for years in several Missouri school districts, it was reported Saturday. Aaron Sydow, superintendent of a district in the city of West Plains, told USA Today that its sad that its come to this but necessary.
Teachers interested in carrying concealed weapons go through 40 hours of training which also includes a psychiatric evaluation.
Those who pass must also undergo 24 hours of training every year.

Texas and Colorado too.
Indiana passed a similar law in 2014. Bidens stupid “Gun-Free School Zone Act of 1990” allows for states to write their own.
But, without amending or repealing the GunFree Zones law those districts in blue states that wish for a better defense are stuck with being fish in a barrel
I heard many school districts are armed in Texas.
We're taking care of business while those pussies in Florida are covering their asses and setting their kids and teachers up for execution.
Just another state to avoid...
BS, everybody knows that many many kids would be dead if teachers were armed.
Every teacher who can meet the training requirements, mental and physical requirements, and pass the CCW mandates of their state should be able to be armed with a concealed weapon in their classroom.
End of discussion.
As long as they meet the above requirements they should have their 2A rights unless and until they do something that mandates the removal of those rights.
There are at least 5 districts in Texas that do. Argyle Texas does. It is a fairly upscale suburban town in Denton County. They have an excellent program. The teachers and staff accepted for the program take the same psychological tests cops have to take and are trained by the police. The schools have signs at the students and staff.

Sorry, FRiends. Again, I’ll say, if the Left were proposing what you are we’d be raising Cain.
Already thrown in the towel about license, ‘health screening’ and ‘training’ (not sure what ‘physical’ requirements one would need. PRESUME a 2x amputee may have some issue....)
ENOUGH w/ the tiered\special rights (ex-cops\military...again requiring PTSD screening, ‘training’, blah blah blah [SEEN how well SOME cops are]). It is a RIGHT, or it is NOT.
- Repeal the power-grab ‘Gun-free’ crap law
- Anyone wishing to exercise their 2nd A. Rights may do so. (as a courtesy, please check-in w/ the office)

That’s right. Avoid Florida. Keep out. Its a bloodbath down here. Go to texas.
Missouri is a Second Amendment state so there are no CCW mandates here.
You are correct.
As of Jan 1, 2017 any person 19 years of age and older can carry a concealed firearm without the need of a permit.
You can still get a permit but you don't need one.
Missouri ping
Low volume ping list
FReepmail me to be on, or off, this list.
If truth be known I would not be surprised to hear that there are MANY, MANY teachers who “carry”, some even in schools.
That is the solution. these school districts cannot afford the security. You can pay these volunteers a $1000 a year or pay a barney fife with a bullet in his pocket 45 k a year. The Teachers will fight because their lives are at stake as well as the children. This needs to be done very quickly because the terrorists will soon come to the schools and churches in large numbers. The idea is to at least buy time for killer swat teams to get there. WE MUST DO SOMETHING. That is who we are.
I heard many school districts are armed in Texas.

And the school employees must volunteer, qualify for CCW and undergo “active shooter” training not just range time.
Claude TX ISD did this several years ago and now many more TX ISDs are doing the same.
I doubt that many Missouri schools will follow the lead of West Plains because almost all Missouri schools have liability insurance through one company/consortium? M.U.S.I.C. This company, MUSIC, has said no coverage for schools who allow teacher carry.
I know of 3 churches in our area who are actively talking and thinking about who will be armed and ready.
All of the mega churches have teams of members that are armed and ready.
